I've been trying to get them in my size for about 9 months now. i've talked to people from Canada to Brazil and Europe. Shipping is very high from Europe. I'm on two waiting lists. I will own a pair as I have heard nothing but great things about them. I bought a pair of the Stretch Air pants and returned them the same day. They are like baggy spandex pants and I just could not justify the $250 price for non chainsaw protective pants.

I believe Pacific Arborist Supplies has my best chance but we'll see.

thats the thing i want some more info and somthing that will last awhile to justify spending a fortune.

Hey any you guys use the Pfanner gladiatior pants? They look pretty sweet, wondering how they work? comfort? etc.

thanks

I got mine from overseas, as others have said, Sherrill stopped selling them (in my size anyways) I will pm you where I got them. Don't want to get in trouble for posting the name because they aren't a site sponsor. I have had mine for over a month, great to climb in. I climbed in 24 degree celsius weather, weren't too hot. Great mobility for sure. So far I like them a lot. I ordered some from Canadian Arborist supplies in May and they still haven't got them in.

Get the large for sure. I am 5'11" 209lbs, and wear 36x30. The larges fit perfect

There is a new Gladiator 2 "cool" out with saw protection but made to keep you as cool as possible. They weigh in at only 750 grams. I have a pair coming although spending $540 NZ dollars on them over the usual 250 I usually spend, they better be cooler!

Its weird guys think twice about paying good $ for a pair of pants that will last a year or so, help protect you from lethal or career ending injury yet will buy another piece or rigging, cutting or climbing gear that gets used maybe weekly.

yeah but if the pants only last a year or so of often use might as well wear chaps and the weekly use of a rigging peice to me sounds like a better investment

ive seen them, theyre not any thicker or heavier then jeans, black is hot tho
if youre worried youll cut your leg, theyre a sound investment

I had been climbing for about 26 years, mainly wearing chainsaw pants. I found them quite restrictive. So occasionally, on technical removals, I would wear cotton pants for mobility. Well, it finally caught up with me acouple of years ago when I touched my knee with a running saw. Luckily I just nicked it. Didn't hit bone. I got lucky. Ordered Pfanners and have been wearing them since. Love them.

Ordered them from Pacific Arborist Supply (Vancouver B.C.) I'm about a 33" waist and I got a medium. They fit a little large. I had a tailor install an extra snap & clasp to take in the extra material. That way during the cold weather, I have extra room for long johns and thicker shirts.

I'll be buying another pair soon to have a spare pair while one is "air" drying.

yeah ive climbed with regular carhartt pants for years and had no problem so im wondering if theyre worth the money:confused:

In most western nations, chainsaw protective pants or chaps are law if your using a saw. If your logging or doing treework, its not a question of if you wear them, it a question of what type.

I have never cut my pants with a chainsaw but wear them all the time. They have saved me from dog bites, wet towel flicks, motorcycle accidents, paintballs, BB's but so far, no saw cuts.

With summer coming, I want to be as cool as possible so gladiator 2's as incredibly pricey as they are, are going to be a good investment (I hope). Sweat rash sucks!
