Not too long ago I had some rounds taking up my carport space. They needed splitting and stacking so I could get a vehicle in. At that time I was splitting with a maul and wedge and it was midsummer in north central Arkansas. I put on shorts and sneakers and began. Every 10 minutes I had to soak myself with cold well water from a hose. After about five sessions I gave up. I went inside and took a cool shower. I don't have good heat tolerance although I grew up in the south before universal air conditioning and went to a non-air conditioned school. I now have to plan my work around cool weather and don't even push it. If you don't have someone with you to look out for you, heatstroke can be deadly and you may not realize the severity before it's too late.
