Went to a local pawn shop last week, been in the market for a saw for the atv. I hit the second pawn shop. And I ran into this beauty. So. I just picked up a Stihl 025. Very very clean condition. Looks like it wasnt used hardly at all. This is how i got it...
Took it into the local saw/small engine repair shop to start with. I get it out of the shop today. THe saw would fire right up on choke, turn it to the run position and it would run for 10 seconds and die. The fuel tank had 3/4 full of rancid smelling gas (green mix) So i think the carb was gummed up. The shop guy said the compression was supurb..
I think the previous owner used it to do a household project then just put it up on the shelf and left it.. Didnt store it proper..
I just left it with him and told him to get her in 100% shape. The saw guys are awsome. Had work thru them before.. Honest guys... Gave me a quote of $40.00 to sharpen, clean the carbs, put a kit in if needed( $15.00) and tuned up... Not bad...
We will see the outcome today...
Heres the pics, sorry the last one is grainy.
So what do you think.. Good deal? Saw look used at all? This is my first Stihl saw, I have a Stihl HS45 hedgetrimmer. Love the thing.
Oh yeah.. Picked her up for $110.00. A new MS250 here runs $350.00.
