We ended up with fewer people than we had originally anticipated, but it was still fun and enjoyable. caseyforrest, carvinmark, dneiger, and a whole bunch of Mark's family were in attendance. Many thanks to Tony from amickssuperstore.com for sending a box of goodies. They were very much appreciated!
We worked on Mark's 084, made some cuts in big wood with his 084 and 056, and with my 075. Sadly, we weren't able to use my 075 too much because the recoil broke and each restart required removing and reinstalling the gas tank and recoil side cover in order to rewind the starter cord, and then you only had one shot to start it. Oops.
On the racing side, we ran Kris's 361, my 075/066R/7900, and Dave's Homelite 750, piped 066, and modded Husqvarna 346 and Jonsered 2152. As with last time we were running in 8x8 poplar, one cut down and one cut up. We were less formal in our timed cuts than last time and didn't keep particularly good records. Though we had a stopwatch, we didn't write times down. I did write down three times that were interesting -
-Dave's piped 066 ran 2.31seconds (race chain)
-My 066R ran 3.84, 1.3 seconds better than last time (2nd sharpening Carlton round ground chisel with the back of the cutter ground down a bit)
-My 7900 ran 5.10, .7 seconds better than last time (4th sharpening unmodified Carlton round ground chisel)
Ok, here are some pics:
