Here is an old 1973 stihl 015 that I just resurrected today. It was sitting in a shed in California since the 1980s. Took a bit of work (2 days) but now it looks, runs and cuts like my other stihl 015 saws that I've built. I sharpened the crap out of the chain and now it shaves the wood like a razor, pretty impressive for a little 1/4" chain.

I guess what I mean by saws that have become part of you is like they have become another limb or arm. I swear I have grown a nerve through my rear pocket and into my wallet cause I scream ever time it's opened. I have a "not so good way of wording things most of the time but all I truly am after is to see some saws that have become special to you in some way
I got to take a trail builing class last year and I love the little custom dozers they make for that.

Hey pimp.. like I said before those are incredible saws that you built but I have 1 question. I see velocity stack stuff on eb@y but there are so many variations. Is there a certain place ya get em or part number

I bought several of these velocity stacks and filters back in the day from a performance small engine shop here in Dallas that closed in 2010. I'm not sure where they can be purchased online but the ones I bought are designed for engines up to 50cc so maybe that'll help. They work really good, make the carb very easy to performance tune and the filter is washable as well.

i was just joking, about cutting into own as becoming part of you in reference to title;
but still; deadly, quiet, always ready, light, stays sharper longer, multi-use etc. Silky etc. is contender, but we get what you mean.

Oh I understand pal. I wasn't offended or anything hehehe, but I see you're in the Florida area and this is probably the dumbest question ever but do you trim up a lot of palms and have you ever ran into the trouble of a palm almost smothering you after ya cut it? I seen this happen on you tube one time and it killed the guy but I forget what they called the part of tree or the actual event. They had a specific name for it..
Actually have aged out, but,
Palms can be freaky ground in the air: cockroaches, wasps and rats nests, have been tied in at top and running saw and a few times a snake came out, got one with saw one time. Only roped in, no branchings; can't get too happy with saw and no place to go. No low weight, so as crawl to top bodyweight can be significant raise in balance of tree, exaggerated in wind. Palms like grass on steroids, and don't cut, burn, rot, chip like anything else, more resilient than most; takes more heat, time, sharpness etc. to deal with. Hate palms. People can get pretty tall palms in ground, always ask how long planted....rather read statistics than be one!

Have been under fronds, dealt with sliding masses of fronds sliding etc. Standing on, and/or from above. Easy to get them caught between self, lanyard and stem. That is very real threat.
Gotta love it, so if all goes wrong at least die happy!
