All I've don't on this saw is rebuild the carb. It seems to start and run pretty nice. I think compression is not 100%. Not sure what it is, as my new tester seems to read a little high.

yes those harbor-fright gauges, do read wrong. see them 50 PSI off or out of the box new and the needle is loose. and useless too..
better gauges are sold in most autostores, for sure. the one with the hose is best, not the rubber cone , malarkey.
I have real gauges here (air and top brands), and shop air and can tested the car type it up to 150psi.
but does the saw cut wood, runs means little. (full power matters)

Remember, with some of those Pioneers, they have the automatic compression release built into the starter mechanism. With my p20, which is basically the same saw, that is the case. You would have to remove the lever and reassemble the side cover to get a real compression reading.
