Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the advice.....I've got the carb rebuild kit on the way, and I'll take some pictures once I start making some progress. I need to find a new drive sprocket assembly before I decide on a B/C combo, the one on my saw is pretty trashed.....

Can I just use the Husky type de-comp valve (I think mine's not functioning properly) or do I need to search for a Pioneer specific one? I'm not afraid to drill/tap a different thread pattern if that's required. Could I just plug it off while I search if I need to use a Pioneer specific valve?

And lastly, is there a preferred paint that's both durable and matches well to the OEM Pioneer color? I was thinking of using engine enamel but I'm not sure if that's the best application for a saw.....

Hello and Welcome to AS. :)

Do a search within this thread on paint. There are some great examples of paint jobs, some great advice on preparation, and someone even posted some paint codes a while back.

All gaskets and de-comp valves and av mounts can still be purchased new. I know Propliner had several new gaskets, you may want to PM him with your needs. Rottman Sales has all the gaskets, also there is a complete gasket set with seals on e-bay for a P50/51 for a starting bid of $9.99. This kit will fit your P60, they use the same case and everything. A Poulan Pro 655 is basicly the same saw, many online shops carry the parts for these still. The gaskets and de-comp are the same.

Thank you, this is good info to have!

I was going to ask which vendors you knew that sold Pioneer parts, but you answered BEFORE I could ask.....thanks.

Hello from the Bahamas, guys. Be careful about using Poulan Pro 655 gaskets on the P60's, I think there may have been a dowel change that would make it unuseable. Check for the proper part number.

The decomp and vibe mounts are the same, however.

I don't have any of those parts for sale at the moment but they can be found online.

Hello Brendon, Its 3 degrees here right now, must be nice to be in the Bahamas. Any Pioneers there? LOL The P60 and the 655 have the same part number for the case gasket, so all is good. Have fun down there.

Hi guys
I wanted to stop by and thank everyone for helping me out with the 2400 project for my father for christmas. It all worked out and I had the saw done in time for christmas. Dad was a VERY happy guy! I want to thank everyone here for the help and a special thanks to propliner and P62 for helping me find a piston and rings.
We just fired the saw up last week and it runs great. It only took two pulls to start it the first time.
Here are a few pics of the saw. I have to get a bar and chain for it yet but I have to wait until next week.

The saw has a brand new cylinder jug, new piston, new rings, new bearings, new seals, new gaskets, new carb kit, new pull cord, new fuel filter and fuel lines, new spark plug, new coil, new oil pump, and paint.

Thanks again guys.

Help : )

Hi Forum Members,

Please excuse me if I am posting this in the wrong place ( moderator move if necessary ). I have stumbled across a Pioneer 620 which belonged to my uncle. I have looked online to find out where I would attempt to sell such a machine ( chainsaws are not my passion, its golf! ). Can you please pm or reply to let me know of any sites or links, or even what it is worth as I have no idea. It is in excellent condition, rarely used and in storage for 30+ yrs.

Many Thanks

Ray

If your selling a Pioneer, your in the right place. You can post some pics and put them in this thread. Also, there is the trading post where guys sell there saws. Lastly I would try e-bay.
