The nos 600 clutch came today . I didnt have the tool beavers used to assemble it but got it together with my man thumbs and a vise holding the center . I cant include a case protecting washer without fabricating a depressed center washer and skipping the .085 washers I made . I ran out of shaft . I should have waited till all the parts came. Time in the shop is never wasted! I am also rethinking the .375 rim. No real good choices for a bar. What are you other 600 owners using for bars? I assume you modified something.

Havn`t run out of OEM Pioneer bars yet, all 32 of my Pioneers still sport them.
got few hn bars that fit 600. theyre short tho, under 24". nice thing w/hn is just need right gauge chain.
That's great you got your new clutch and installed garter spring on shoes. Note: Their is a correct and wrong way to install the Garter spring. correct way is to have the connection at end of spring in the middle of clutch shoe and not between clutch nshoes.

Took some of the girls out for a play day . All got a turn . Only the 14/20 acted up , would not idle and no amount of diddling helped. Im thinkin the air bypass hole must be covered with gasket . Ran great at wot which is what I needed.

No idle is plugged low circuit or too lean
l am only Familier with the code HN Standard width bar 2-3/4", .404 , .058" gauge, Solid Nose, 12" - 42" lengths. The 28" bar is Maximum if you have a 3/8"- .058" gauge.

Turning the low open did affect the acceleration , but did nothing for idle . Saw has "inject aire" I never had a saw with it . I am going to go through it again . First time I really tried it after building it .
My 1450 has the injectaire carb on it, bought new in 67 it ran fine for a few years but then started to act up. Our Pioneer dealer`s mechanic could not get it to run right so it sat unused for many years. I finally fixed it and got it set up right, it cuts amazingly well now. The correct settings for the saw and carb are contained in the Pioneer repair manuals.
I just fiddled around with the inject aire and the idle mix and it turned out well. Little turns at a time.

Wondering if bypassed can be closed off and idle set as usual providing ithas a butterfly idle screw?

There is no idle screw . There is just a jet for air . Somethings plugged .Ill find it ..
Not sure what the engineer was thinking but after over complicating an idle adjust. He may have moved on to designing flippy caps.

Exactly right Tim. What a corned idea when there was no need to change
Some of the ideas Pioneer went ahead with wern`t exactly useful in the long run like the wick pickup in the 1100 series saws and this Inject Aire carb. The push button carb primers were another but Pioneer was trying many things new to them and the industry as well, some worked and some did not, not all innovation works out well in the long run..
