cbfarmall,
Nice looking 2400, can even see a faint amount of the Pioneer Logo on the bar. I really like these 77cc saws! Had the same failure you mentioned on a 3270SC where the cage bearing blew apart where the rod attaches to crankshaft. Was able to clean the cylinder up as most of the damage was at the dome and install a new oem piston with caber rings and of course a new cage bearing, man she's a runner and oils like crazy. I've used a XL-900 series spike from a Homey on a few as the Pioneer spikes seem hard to come by. Just have to grind a spot for that tank hump and elongate/redrill one of the mounting holes. Hope this helps.

My repair manual notes the early bearings had 12 rollers, late had 10. Maybe this failure is the reason for the change. Homelite and Poulan just pack crankpin with needles till they ran out of space. No cage to break up.

I’ll have to go look, but I am thinking the only current production close is the K095. I can go and pull an OEM hard nose from a 3270 and compare.

Maybe 240RNDK095…

I accidentally purchased a Husqvarna small mount bar and chain combo. Aka K095 mount. Decided I would give it a try on the 3200.

As you suggested it does fit and oil. I had to file a bit of material to get the bar to slide on past the clutch drum but it was very easy and took only a minute. If you have a half wrap handle you could probably angle the bar in a way that it would slide on without filing it though. It fits the saw good and adjust the tension well.

The Caber Rings you purchased for your 3270 , could you share the part # with us? How do you feel about the fitamd quality of the rings?

I'm curious myself. I didn't think Caber made rings in standard sizes, only metric. I ended up using Poulan 245 rings in my 2460. Had to file the gap larger due to the larger locating pin. I wonder if the later 3270s use the same rings?

Just picked up this 3270s recently. As you can she she is rather filthy and missing a bunch of paint. But she is complete and has a clean cylinder and fired off a little fuel in the carb.

I currently have it stripped down for cleaning and am debating on if I want to paint it. I would also like to replace the crank seals while it is apart. Does anyone have a crank seal size so I can look for some aftermarket seals?

Thanks

For the flywheel side ,

Pioneer 427656 Use SKF CR5926 or Timken 471532

@cbfarmall should be able to help you with the PTO side seal

Really fun saws to run. Loads of snap off the throttle and they sound awesome.(At least my 3200 does).

I found out the hard way that you should leave the primer filter or whatever that white bulb thingy on the left side of the throttle box is even if the primer system doesn’t work. I pulled everything out of my 3200 and the idle was all messed up. Seems like the throttle linkage sits on that thing and keeps everything aligned….? Once I mounted that filter or check valve unit back in it ran great again!!

You are going to smile non stop once you cut a piece of wood with it! Really fun saws to run.

I’m fairly inexperienced when it comes to pioneer saws. I admit that I saw it, thought it looked good with the full wrap, looked it up and saw it was an auto oiler and 77cc and I fell in love.

The 428746 PTO seal is CR5606
427656 flywheel side may be CR5926 which is .594 shaft or 5662 which is .563 shaft. I measured the crank at .592 shaft size. I have a few OEM seals so I haven't needed an aftermarket yet.
