Delta or Grizzly clone. Jump on it. Bring a buddy or two to help load it. 600 lbs. Parts are available from either or but Griz will be less expensive.

For a shop planer there is no comparison between the two. They were made heavy for a reason. No real need for additional infeed and outfeed supports when dealing with long stock. That 305 wont last near as long and will just barely do hard hardwoods. My 2¢

I have a grizzly in one of my shops and it does a good job. I've never done anything to it but change the blades. Its really heavy like TF said. The only thing I don't like about it is I wish it had a second speed. The lunch box planer's don't feed very well and don't last very long if your planing maple or white oak.

BB, you can remove the single speed gear and install a two speed gear. I've been wanting to do this too on the Rockwell. Check the side of the gearbox and look for a plug were the shifter would go. Next to the power feed lever. Griz has the parts and doesn't look too involved other than draining the oil out. It's not a conversion kit. Takes some research.
