I found ported Echo, new for $1050 on Ebay. I can't bring myself around to pull the trigger. Is this worth the money?

The guy selling them on ebay for 1050 isnt the one that even ports them. A guy I know overseas ports them and then he ships him saws. The ebay seller then tacks on a extra cost as you see and why 200+ more sometimes. The porter is a trusted porter. But the guy selling them dont do it.

I would just buy from Kevin @huskihl for 850 first, since he does great port work too and trusted porter also. Then you save all that mark up by a reseller IMHO.

I never liked the 1/4". Cuts way too slow and makes a lot of saw dust.

Not a speed thing for me. Its the clean smooth pruning cuts it does is why I use 1/4" mini micro on the clone 2511 and the stihl 150 that came with it.
I dont see dust in cuts, just tiny chips. To me dust a sign of dull chain or not sharpened right. Maybe not using right file for the mini micro cutters?

The 3/8LP it came with, just not to my liking for pruning cuts.

If I want fast I will go to the G111 200T clone or put 3/8LP back on clone 2511.

I did the 1/4 Stihl bar/chain conversion some time ago. You are right. It does work a little better on smaller pruning cuts. It's a toss up between the Silky and the 2511 which one to use. I can't see porting a saw for 1/4" chain.

No reason to port at all with 1/4" micro.

You running this 325 043 oregon 80 narrow kerf stuff? Seems so close to the 1/4" micro 043 by looks.
