two of my friends and I have used poison ivy and it does fuzz up. If you're going to be using mechanical ascenders, thinner is better, and poison ivy is a little thicker than velocity.
velocity will run through mechanical ascenders well, but because of the higher wax content I've found that its a little slower when descending.
Blaze is a good rope, low stretch, wears a long time without fuzzing up, and is great for mechanical ascenders, and its usually a little cheaper than Poison Ivy and Velocity I think.
