Day number two....spent most of the day in the shop working on saws...building an 046 for Robert...a few cuts..finish testing some saws...then ends with an outstanding turkey dinner with all the fixins....homemade wine...homemade hooch...homegrown turkey...and one homely Ontarioian...

After yesterdays cutting, we spent the evening at one of my dads houses...John got drunk as usual...Robert was kinda tipped over...and George stole all the women...

Here is John the creep hogging the couch....

Hey Dennis,

Where can I get one of those hats - no not the poster - the hat!! And leave the drunk where he is. Buds?! Hey, that gives me an idea, does he sleep soundly??......
Cheers
Charlie.

Clearwater update: Dennis had the buffalo meat ready for us and John was in charge of cooking...An arguement started over the correct bar lube to use when cutting steaks...And after all was said an Dunn...John won out on speed cutting of steaks (cold start 3 cuts) I guess a duller chain works best on frozen meat.
john was using his special self sharpening chain and his 3rd cut was the fastest. Just another fine dinner here in the frozen wasteland.

Here is another pic of the h'ordeurves Dennis had found locally. He told us that these are very rare this time of year as they usually covered with snow, ice and tire chain marks. It does'nt taste like chicken or smell like fish (yeah were talking about you Fish) I will say it tasted good but was tougher than 10 ply tire.

Here is another pic...John was tired after sharpening and cutting all day and had a bad case of Rotax shoulder and was in need of a good soaking in the hot-tub....Here is john soaking and sobbering as only a Canadian cutter can.

Canadian Dessert, Dennis searched around the house, checked his trapline and came with one hell of a dessert... I myself have never had
(mouse ala mousse) on a stick. The stick was one of the best I have ever had, and I have been stuck alot...Rotax did the field dressing on this particular mammal with a piped 272 and of course a Lambert self sharpening chain.

fund raiser

OK..we spent all of Roberts funny money and we need more booze....so...we decided that we will put up a signed and numbered limited edition..one of a kind....series of shirts..this is number one...you can "Buy It Now" for a measly $99.00 Usd..we are offering this to only the Arborsistsite guys...it hits ebay when the beer store opens.....any takers? We take Paypal.....

Canadian Compact Disk

Here we have the one and only (other than the other one)
Pre-Clearwater CD (1 of 2). Make sure your player can handle this baby. This one was freshly burnt this morning with a piped 272 and an Art Martin race chain in 1.52 seconds. Yeah we can get er DUNN, and with a greffard hotsaw we are thinking of mass producing these CD's. Get yours while they last....

272 Hotsaw

Hello rotax robert,
Well thats a pretty fast cut in that 10.5 inch log. !.52 with a 272 hotsaw. must have a pretty good barrel and pipe. plus uncle art's chain. When you run a saw with a pipe its hard to return to a mundane stock version of the same saw.makes you want to convert all your saws to expansion chambers

Oh brother... I can see where this is going for me. Went down to the local parts store to buy some spark plugs and ended up going to California and coming home with a new car...

Good stuff Doug, hope you like your new car. Your new 2149 is a good saw and will be a welcome addition to your collection.
I am not opening my replies with the salutation " Hi There", because Rotax miscontrued it and interpreted it as " hit here", and I just woke up out of the snowbank.
Now Were Loggin!

dbbabcock's 3120

Hello doug,
good news and bad news, the good news is I finally got started on your saw. The bad news is once i got started on your 3120 I sort of got carried away and stayed up all night and did a little extra modifing to your saw. Put a cylinder head on and built a header and pipe and put a tillotson 360 carb on it. it will be the fastest woods saw in N.H. Enclosed some photos.

Otto's 372

Hello tundraotto,
Now you never did tell us how the 372 husky dennis modified for you ran. What kind of cuts have you made with it?

hi kd - the saw is working something beyond wonderful - i am still (i know, i know) in the process of trying to get video so i can have some times but as of yet dont have any as i have been too intoxicated or otherwise not functioning at full performance:) anyway i think my initial guesstimate is spot on with the 30% of course im using stock filed oregon LG. the saw is very fast and for example last weekend i cut down about a 3' oak tree at about 4' high due to some barbed wire at the bottom and as i was leaning with my weight against the saw the saw was pushing me (6' 200#) out of the cut when fully buried in the wood with w 24" bar - didnt lose rpms either. so thanks for a great job dennis!:blob2:
