Powerhead only, should be able to get that for around 600-625.00 easily, maybe even less if the dealer wants to movem out....

Okay, thanks. Thats what i am hoping for. Whats odd though, is that the 2 stihl places im going to don't have the MS 441 on the shelves yet they have the MS 460? The toys stores im going to r True value stores that sell stihl.... the sad thing is they have cheaper prices and a better reputation than most of the Stihl dealers around here.

Get this, the lowest the guy would do was $675 for the power head. The first time i asked him he said they would nock $30 off. To me, thats not a deal at all.

441

The stihl dealers shoud be more willing to work with you if they know you have cash in your hand to spend. Thall10326 is right on prices. More people buy the 441 rather than the 460. I have both and the 460 has a bit more power, but if your looking for reliability go with the 44 they last forever.

Maybe that's because they sold out of the 441's? FWIW, my dealer told me that storm that hit Buffalo in November? possibly had something to do with a 441 Arctic not being available. A 460 Arctic was, but I wanted the 441.

GOOD NEWS...I called up this place that only sold Just Stihl equipment. I told the guy how much the other stores were selling me the power head for. He's says thats not right??? First he said he could do $640 then he said he could do $600. I said i'll be right over. This place was run by an old man who knew his stuff. He had every model stihl saw that they offer right now. Bars and chains out the ars. He even had a 5 foot bar for sale. This thing was a monster. Now i can't wait till tomorrow to try her out. Thank u everyone for helping me out:cheers:

This guy was probably the nicest dealer i have ever met. Im gonna go to him for everything now. I used to have a main stihl dealer that my father and i would go to for years, but the Guys son took over and forgot how to take care of his customers who do alot of buisness with him. I haven't been back to his place in a year and a half.

Nope, you've yet to meet the nicest dealer in the world. When I get over my cold you come on by sometime, hehe. Don't come now though, I may seem abit on the cranky side, you may find bodies laying out in the parking lot, come when I'm over my cold, hehe

Gary

Are you saying I'm a old man, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'll have to remember that, so when im down your way, i can buy some stuff. Thanks for the help. I just can't believe those half ars dealers associated with 2 of the local True Vale stores. The best they could do for the power head was $700, then $675? Mind u, these 2 stores were advertising the MS 440 with a 16" bar for $630 a year ago.I was like hell no, im outta here. What can i expect the power head for a MS 361 to cost?

Not here. My dealer hasn't sold a 441 yet.

Thats not surprising Jeff. Everyone is scooping up the 440's, believe it or not. Our rep told us once the 440's are gone the 441 will start rolling off shelves...............

Was just cruising the saw shops today. Stopped in the Stihl dealer that I can't stand...just to jabber and sound well versed on Stihl saws from all the info I have learned from Andy and Tom  Anyhow, he had a 440 in stock, 24" bar on it, and marked at $769.00. He didn't know a lick about the 441 other than 'it's supposed to be a sweet saw'. Told me, 'we might order one in spring unless we can get some more 440s'. Doesn't stock the 361 either. Just the 210, 250 and 390 - I mean, it's not like anyone could ask for more in a saw :dizzy:

Interesting.............

Tom or Andy.....shouldn't guy (by Stihl's standards) be stocking more bigger pro saws???

I didn't think a Stihl dealer could get away with just stocking the small homeoner saws!!!
