That doesn't sound like ripping off to me. More like he's a good salesman. I mean, they didn't have to buy it.;)

I notice that everyone keeps talking about the factory dual port cover on the 066's. My 066 was one of the first and it has that cover. However, I have looked into getting a new one, but have been told they are not available in the US due to emissions regulations. My dealer has checked on it and were told no dice. It has been a year or so since I checked though. Could it be that the rules have changed since then?

Your dealer is wrong. They were discontinued on production saws in 1995, but have been available as a spare part ever since...

Have him order part number 1122 140 0800, about $44.

Thanks for that. We were just going off of what the Stihl CD listed as available. That part was listed as not available in the US.

I use the Stihl CD (Media cat) and it shows as available... Make sure you click on the correct image (the second muffler set down) as they show two dual port muffler fronts.

One thing that is annoying with Stihl is that BY REGION they decide what parts and Models are available. They are definitely available though Stihl North West.

Excellent! Thanks.

I know what you mean by region. My area is served by Midwest Stihl out of Wisconsin and they leave a lot to be desired.
