In the TV show, Benedict Arnold is speaking of the possible amputation of his injured leg.

"I fear my surgeon more than my foe. My foe would gnaw off my leg because it is his duty, while my surgeon would do it because he knows how."

Is this how the consumer public regards their arborist practioners?

I hope that my customers do not view me that way-I try not to give them cause to do so. On the other hand, little seems to have change in perceptions of the medical profession. I fear surgeons for the same reasons as ol'Benedict.:D

There is a well respected arborist here in town who calls this place Tacky-hassee:eek: He is right. Folks around here just don't care about their trees, just their image. Conspicuous consumption if you will.

There is also a long time tree service,(Cert.Arborist) who will top a tree in a flash,it says so in the yellow pages. honest! Most of us have "topped" a tree, out of ignorance, right.

Urban sprawl ~ development ~ contruction damage,, and a lot of "I'm a sissy and I'm sick of raking those dam leaves" kinda people keep me busy.

I don't preach, except about(snakes), let me catch you stopped on the highway or backroad 'hack'in' on a snake and I will hurt your pride. We need tree preachers too.

What would it be like to walk around outside and NOT know what your looking at? How many times have you walked around property with the owner and they have no clue about trees, birds, ponds, creeks or bugs, oh, but man they can tell you about the ballgame thats on TV.

Yes Oxman, I think so.:(
