I never realized until joining this forum there were so many models of Poulans over the years. There are actually multiple saws with the "wild thing" moniker, right?

Some were supposed to be decent, some total crap. Some had spring anti-vibe and some did not.

Your saw sounds good, anyway. It sure took a long time to cut that log. Chain sharp? I guess it is a small saw, 34 cc or so?

The old one I had would have blown up and would have tingled my hands numb by the end of the video.

lol ya 42cc smallest saw I got but I wanted a real test so i found a log that matched the bar.

Also not a fancy chain just a semi chisel but yes it was sharp in this video.

That saw is probably fun with more power. I remember that at least mine was fairly light if not dependable. Less weight helped it to vibrate more.

ya it's got no anti-vibe tho it's never bothered me but it doesn't see a lot of cut time either.

I've still got feet of snow to melt before I can start cutting. Actually before I can do much of anything. Reading and TV is life in winter around here.

Put a hexa chain on the 462 for a big hard ash log earlier this week. Thought it cut pretty good. Noodled a bunch of it.

Not too much cutting lately, the weather has been atrocious, just a little bit of storm clean up from snowageddon. Did a couple of non-climbing, but fairly technical pine removals at work. They were back and side leaners with very small windows to drop them, I shot pull ropes into both of them. No video or even pictures of that, as I usually don't do either at my real job.

This is a little 543xp clone saw I've been working on, still not totally happy with it...the other saw is my 201, which I've had for a little while now and am very happy with it.

I find forums have ups and downs with people posting stuff, it's been like that for years with bike and atv forums too.
Recently I've rebuilt a 61 with a chinese 272 kit I ported and I messed around with a neo tec 892 I bought. The 892 needs a oem decomp and maybe an oil pump but seams ok otherwise. I going to try to make the oiler a high flow oiler by grinding on it.
These topics have been covered a few times so I didnt post about em.
If I get the oiler to work better I might do a how to on it to post.

Thanks. I love the sound this thing makes. Was going to sell it, that's why I made the video. But I think I'll keep it as a shelf queen.
