Well the time has come for me to move on to the next level, I would like to have a full blown saw built. I don’t race saws, I think it would be fun to play with a race saw. I want to have this saw with a header and be able to cut firewood. I spoke with Doug and he called it a Hybrid. I don’t think I want a 3120 or a 088 but I could be coaxed into one.
I have considered a 385 or maybe a 372. I don’t want to play with the alcohol just yet.

I would consider a Stihl or even a Jonsered what do you guys think? This would be used to buck firewood at my house. I would be using the pipe just to play with or to show my friends and say” Take a look at this” I don’t think the racing arena is in my blood. Well lets hear the input.

Mark,
The idea you have has good points and bad points.
The good points are you are trying to learn about the next level of saws and race saws.
The bad is that full ******** and bucking firewood don't mix well
Although, I did biuld a modified woods saw that I use with a ported muffler for bucking and a tune pipe as a back up racing saw. But it has a stock carb and very mild porting. You may want to consider this setup also.....
Good luck with you decision.

Chris

I have an 084 that Ken and I worked on very strong, needs pipe. 700. plus shiping. Jon

John Do you have 2 of those clubs???? I might need one for parts, EI... I don't get the real piston in the first saw I can just take one from my back up saw.

Well here's a start for the saw. I jsut cann't figure out what saw I want the 3120 is bigger than I want to go.

This is one of my favorite threads so far, the type of foolish thing I tend to want to do. Build up a tool so cool, so different, that everyone else is stupefied by the power, the glory, the noise, the chips.... AHHHH. I don't need a bigger saw than a 260 or 345XP, but... What about that 359, or 357XP???

Yeah, so what. We're here to have fun, right?

Clem.
