Fishing, mainly saltwater, as well as rec. climbing. Yes I do it even right after work. Rec. climbing is much more relaxing. You don't have any noise and no set place to go. Just hangout and do what ever, read a book, listen to music or just watch the birds.

nothing like a little wind in your:hmm3grin2orange:

and i fish alot

Yoga can calm the mind and streetch out the kinks.

If that fails, a good strong dark beer can work wonders.

I read on ArboristSite!

That, and I enjoy hunting, camping, and a bit of fishing now and then,..:biggrinbounce2:

I take my bike for a thrash over a local twisty hilly rural road, it has no driveways for a couple of kms so I can treat it like a racetrack once I have scouted it on the way down. Brain has no room for anything else and all the senses are taken up by the speed. Better than sex.

or take the pup to the park and watch it play with others, she goes mental, and is a very funny.

guns

i got to the shooting range and blow off a box of ammo...sometimes even the girlfriend comes with and we we both enjoy shooting away...now that i think about it after we get married i dint know if it was such a good idea to teach her how to shoot a 9mm and a m4 carbine

Vodka, preferably kept in the freezer in the garage. Or rebuilding a chainsaw, of course I have tried them both at the same time with mixed results. Stress is usually gone but the saw will not run :)

Not to change the subject, but aren't guns illegal, or nearly so, in mass?

Rec climbing is cool because you dont have to climb with a chainsaw!!!

I think doing nothing what so ever is a good stress relief, hows it possible to be stressed! Speed and adrenalin rush, love it.

Six'er and a swim

Nothign better then getting off of work and drinking a few cold ones and taking a swim in the lake, refreshing and primes you for side work (no climbing after drinking of course). Also boat rides and puffing alil bit of cheeb here adn there arent such bad things.

Stress Management

All of the above ideas sound great as long as they're not overdone, but to be truthful they are all activities and merely diversions which do nothing to relieve stress. They may be good recreation but if a person is subjected to stress on a daily basis it would be a good idea to learn a little about it. And then to learn how to relax. Progressive tensioning of the muscles and some proper breathing along with some music imagery on a regular basis can help. I wish I could give you a detailed description here but time and space won't allow it. Part of the training for a Music Therapist is Stress Management. If you are serious about finding relief from your stress contact me through my email. Just one more fact - 85-95 % of clinical visits can be traced directly to stress. Find out more about it by reading at your library or buying a stress management workbook. Don't be suckered by the crap on the internet.

Music therapy=rockin':rockn: out to Led Zeppelin on the way home from work!

My buddy who is also a climber and I will take the bikes up to Skyline drive and relieve the stress around the corners. Nothing quite like passing Harleys, RV's and dodging deer at 70 mph. :biggrinbounce2:
