Remington Super 660 Carb. Problem

Hey guys. I'm working on a Remington Super 660 saw with a Carter NRD carburetor. Just did the carb. rebuild with no problem. Saw will not run without the help of starting fluid. It did the same thing before I did the carb. rebuild. Also installed new gas lines and fuel filter. Has good vacuum. Any thoughts on where to go from here.

I hope the starter fluid was mixed fuel, the ether has no lube what so ever.

What model Carter nrd carb was it?

How did you remove that brass rivet that stakes down the diagram? My kit from sugar creek comes Thursday. Thanks!

Hey @REM660 any luck getting it to run? I had same problem after rebuild the bottom of the carb the cork gasket was wet about 2/3 of the way around I thought that didn't seem right, @chipper1 said it's definitely leaking. So I tightened those 6 screws as tight as I could and now it runs good. Not sure if that helps ya any.

Man that thing flew thru the first half of the first cut .

That's funny chipper. The first cut it died out halfway thru, had to add another half turn to the H. Then I finished what I started and was cutting good. Wife said no more videos in the backyard, I got an extended time out.
