Trying to find a thermostat that will alert low temp.

Shop is just wood heat and sometimes ends up being a "figured someone else would load the stove" type thing. Have plumbing for the shop bathroom/breakroom plus it also feeds an apartment so frozen pipes are the main concern.

Have internet/wifi in the shop.

So something that would text or email if it got colder than 45* type device.

Mostly thought about it tonight, came home around 2000, was about 20*. Now at 0030 it's -2*. Quite a bit more wood needs to get put in the stove at below zero vs a pretty warm 20*

They make a wifi thermostat but a little pricey
But years ago I ran a small water district and we but a system that you hook up to switches and would call if water pressure was low

You could use thermostat and set 50 degrees and when it calls for heat it would trigger this device
But can't remember what there called and had be hooked to a phone line
Still thinking

I thought about a Nest or the like, but we don't have a furnace so nothing to charge the Nest. I tried it as home and with the boiler control wires disconnected it errors out too, saying it's not hooked up. Also it doesn't have a low temp notification that I know of. Other than going on the Nest website and looking all the time.

The phone one people were saying the phone won't work with that hooked up, anyone know if that's true?

Check on some of the La Crosse devices, they have some that notify...
If you have a security system in the shop, you may be able to have a low temp alert added to it and get a call from the alarm company...

That suck's! I thought Amazon would ship anywhere?????????????

A lot of stuff they won't ship to AK. They act like it's going to Africa.
And no rhyme or reason either. I can order tires and 8ft light bulbs, but a .5lb package with socket wrench tap holde4s, they won't ship.

It's VERY annoying because it will go through until the very last order screen. It'd be nice if there was a setting so the "no ship" items wouldn't even show up at all.

I've even had Amazon refund my money when they decided after the fact not to ship! Never mind calling and saying, hey shipping is $10 extra, are you OK with that?

Ad a small electric baseboard heater in the bathroom with a thermostat. Quick easy and cheeper than replumbing.

Plumbing goes from a small tool room/storage room (maybe 400 sq ft), to the breakroom, then runs across the ceiling of the main shop (30x40) in the apartment. Sewer line just along the ceiling, across the breakroom wall and into the bathroom.

Can't have it sent to someone in the lower 50, and then have them sent it on up to you?
I'd be willing to do it for you...shipping from Ohio would be more than from say, Washington though...

you really need to get in good with a shipping or flight company from anchorage to Seattle, WA. i would think you could pay the pilot or ship captain a case of beer to bring some small packages over for you.
