Lost a guy yesterday, seems to be a "ground hog day" thing.
Get them pretty well up to speed, 1-3 months in and either decide it's not for them, too much work, or find better/other work... and that's the guys that actually show up, have had some get hired and never show, or only last a day or a week.
This guy got hired on doing paving, 80hrs a week at $20/hr, reg time, $40 for o/t.
No way I can compete with that, at $20/hr I'd be close to roughly breaking even each week.
