Well, the weather round here is just plain nasty today. Glad I spent yesterday in the woods gettin some fresh air with the Dolmars! A person should do this every day. Me, on the other hand, I haven't cut any wood in over a year, so I'll be feeling the effects for a few days!

Thanks for posting the picts of your day out in the woods, nice big hardwood tree that was dropped. That one should make some good firewood. Is it a hickory?

I believe it was an oak. I hate to admit it, but I don't know which kind. My tree identification skills are not so good using just bark & wood grain. Drought got them a few years back, I cut the other last year, figured I better get this one done before it went to waste. I got probably a little more than 2 ricks out of it. Knocked the rust off of me and the splittin maul!

It very well could be oak, hard to tell from the pict but a nice stick just the same. I worked the woodyard all day yesterday and even used the splitting maul some of the time, got 3 cord split up and piled, a good day also.

So, is anyone here the one that out bid me on that 153 on eBay this morning? I had to leave for work early and didn't place my maximum bid high enough! :bang:

not me....wish i had seen it though......the seller might have done better if his pics were better. the saw looked to be in good shape and the seller described it as such, but the pics didn't tell the tale, and i trust pics more than sellers usually.

Was anybody on here the winner of the Sachs 111 from feebay? Just curious. Seller said it ran, but acted like the muffler was plugged up. No pics of the piston behind said muffler, however. Kinda made me a little too leary to bid. But, that also saved me one "You already have a pile of chainsaws in the garage" speech from the missus.

Wasn't me. I am not far from seller, but he never answered my Q about if I could pick it up. So I lost interest and he probably cost himself some selling price.

Yeah, I always appreciate it when sellers don't answer your question, or when they ignore a "Best offer".

Best Bar/Chain setup for Dolmar PS401

Somewhere there was discussed 3/8LP vs .325 for the PS401. Anyone know where that is? Appears .325 was stock on PS411. I have to buy a new clutch drum anyway, so I wish to hear opinions on the best chain setup for this saw. I have more than one 401, all others are 3/8LP. This one was $5 runs good, missing brake and clutch drum is bad.

If its your only .325 saw, consider 3/8 lp but don't think I'd go full size 3/8. Too small of saw, but its yours, run it the way you want, but run it.

I can imagine. Last time I was there was 2003 or 4 and you had a little ice and a little snow and the town was shut down for a week. :hmm3grin2orange:

Yes sir! We were probably completely shut down for a week, with "limited routes" the following week or 2!!
