yeah, he's FOS. i wonder if there is enough metal in that jug to bore it out to 9CI. it would take a 63mm bore with stock stroke to get 9CI. even if it has been, its still no where close to 30hp. and the CT displacement is the same as a 166.

I would say that he is just misinformed, anyone interested in the saw should contact him and ask to have the bore measured, we know the stroke is 48 mm, I seriously doubt the cylinder can be bored out that much. Stock they were 118 cc or 7.2 cu. in.

You see Jerry, since you are such a nice, honest guy you just expect the same from everyone else...good for you.

Even so, as a seller advertising a product he has some responsibility for making sure what he is saying is true.

Mark

Yes Mark,..I come across as a nice guy but have been in business for myself for more than 30 years. I give everyone a first chance to be honest as we all make mistakes, he may just be young and inexperienced, he does have a responsibility to list his items for sale correctly but may just be going on what he was told.
I have sent him off a series of questions that may cause him to change the info he has stated on the eBay site, many, many sellers have changed their listings after they received a eMail from me. The ones that don`t wish to change the info after my conversation with them then run the risk of selling a product that may end up being returned with a lot of costs and complications attached to the transaction, probably get a negative on the feedback feature also.

Some eBay sellers don't realize how much they stand to lose by not representing items correctly. I have won cases where eBay refunded price and shipping and never required I return item. They were blatant cases. Right now I have a GB 24 inch Titanium, no cost to me. It has crack in nose and worn real sharp and wide. Needs new roller tip and dressed and closed. I am trying to decide if its worth the expense. Seller just hurt himself. After that, I didn't give neqative. I am soft hearted :)

I have heard of such instances, I think they just take the money out of the sellers eBay account if there is enough in it, not sure how they get their money back if there is insuffiicient funds there. Pay Pal also will reimburse the buyer and then go after the seller from what I have been told, have not been down that road yet.

The reply to my questions that I sent to the seller of the CT was, " that is what the builder of the saw has always maintained that the saw has 9 cu. in. and 30 hp.". They don`t know the bore or stroke but are putting their faith in what the builder has always claimed.

Still getting replies from the CT seller, he still thinks the saw is what he has it listed at. I have asked him to measure the bore to make sure of what the saw really has done to it, also related some of the conditions re. eBay selling, will see what the replies are.
