I just spray the blade with CRC 556 every second day and sap just wares off the saw as you cut.

Pine Sol, Simple Green or use some vegetable oil to scrub out the pine sap. No difference than on the sawblade. Spray it on and let it soak before you throw the clothes into the washing machine. You could use the aerosal cooking sprays too I guess.

Is CRC 556 the peanut butter of the chemical world?

I believe that CRC 556 is an equal mixture of WD-40 and testosterone.

Mr. Nakanishi, Your English is excellent. Thank you for responding to Jim.
Yes, Mr. Nakanishi, we DO think its cool that you accepted an invitation to pop
in and contribute. We feel a sense of direct connection now with Japan and that is
way way cool.

Domo arigato goimasu = You 'da man! :p Truly, we really do appreciate it your involvement.
May we call you Hiroshi? It is very fitting that a thread about Silky blades would have a direct representation from Japan.

This would be a good time to put a face with a name. Hiroshi, as I've been told, will be at TCI Columbus. Pic is from TCI Baltimore a few years ago.

thank you for your invitation, Jim. I am happy to join you and am looking forward to meeting all of you at TCI Expo Columbus. Sure, you may call me Hiorshi.

Your first post... this is a special moment. That first step into the carotid artery of arboriculture. Hiroshi, we are very glad to have you here.

A little known thing about a Silky, if I may diverge a moment, is that if you tune it properly it is entirely possible to use it as an instrument. I am not kidding. Here is the video of me seeing what kind of tone I could get out of a TopGun 270 mm folding saw.
