I realy recommend 10 wt bar oil in this weather. It can rip the worm out of a pump in the first turn.

Haven't seen 10 wt bar oil for sale around here. Rural isolation....

What would you recommend to use if one wants to thin the heavier wt bar oil as an expedient measure?

Guns, Lore, Harleys

How ya makin' out, did you get the timber down and out yet?
With all this cold, everyone needs a sno pro or arctic, and why wouldn't they?

I went out yesterday to my buddies salvage logging operation to give him a hand with the excavator and skidder. I ended up with the opportunity to go tip some trees for him, and his saws had been sitting up in the bush, in the snow, for several days when I got there...fired up second pull...gotta love a good saw!

To max2cam, on bar oil:

This will get RJS going. But I would use 10w30 Mobil 1, for bar oil in cold weather, to start with. Then I would use a mixture of 10w30, Mobil 1 oil and bar oil, untill you could warm up your bar oil enough to use in the saw with out problems. I suppose a person could thin with kerosene, etc. but who needs the smell all over their cloths. Fuel mix is bad enough. JMO. Ha, I know I'm going to get some sort of reply. Lewis.
