Definitely been a warm year. No ice on Huron or Georgian Bay. Usually use between 7-9 facecord, this year I just started taking wood off the 5th. Split more kindling than ever. There has been no hucking big chunks on a coal bed and opening the damper this season. A small crib of kindling with one split on top has been enough twice a day, now down to once a day and the wife doesn't like it getting below 70°F!PXL_20230329_104719653.MP.jpg

Oh yeah! I almost forgot! Who was it that called BS on my STIHL's throwing 2,3 and even 4.5 inch ribbons?🤔 How about 5.5 inch ribbons? 🤷Dose that count?😉

That's just produced from my round tune! Don't make me put on the Chaps for square chain ribbons! 🤣
You mean that Stihl the guy found on the road after you drove by? I noticed it's missing in the second photo....😉

I'm more careful about doing things like that after having my MS261 fall off the open tailgate on the rail trail... 😐

P.S. I went back and found it after I noticed it was gone.

You know how I roll  .
What about a stihl bar on a dolmar, and with a Carlton chain :crazy2:.

Flush cut some of the stumps out back today.
That's a 36 on the dolly, pulls it like a champ.
The bigger red oak, just reached through. Looked like 75yrs old.

Had a nice fire tonight too. Heard the great horned owls out there. It's normal to hear them here, but we haven't been out much in the evenings yet. Pretty sure I heard at least 3.
Hard to tell, the flames were about 12-15' tall for quite a while, I just kept feeding it :blob2:.

Looks like my 7910 C1138E8F-AB77-4E1E-8EC9-3446A92B2C7D.jpeg
When you put the bar upside down does it mean the saws in distress kinda like a flag ?

@chipper1 next time, use the bucket as the wedge. Just shove it in the back cut and curl. 🫣
Been there done that, but because my cutting edge is worn way down I'd have to make the back cut twice as big to get it in there, and who's got time for all that ;).
I spent probably and hr just getting the ropes set up.
Does this count as a I suck? Just waiting till they vote on the 6th, so I can go pick it up. My old Forman told me about it. Runs and cuts. He even found a few spare chains and all the manuals for it. This eill be number 2, but the other one I have has bad ignition system.
Heck yeah, that's a beast.
What model, new milling saw:chainsaw:.

Picked up this low hour 026 last week. I'll clean it up for up north. View attachment 1070366View attachment 1070367View attachment 1070368View attachment 1070369
It's not a PRO 026 so no adjustable oiler and it only has the low side adjustable carb. I may swap the carb out with a fully adjustable unit.
Congrats on the new saw.
She looks like a real clean one.
One time I found one about 20min from the house, met up with the guy and I was like, you look familiar.
I figured out why once we got to talking, he was one of the local news guys lol.

Thanks. The bar has about 1/2 the paint on it, very possible it's the original bar. It has a 16" .325 bar. I may put a 20" on it after I muffler mod and do a gasket delete. That really woke up my other 026.

Always a little fun to meet a "celeb".

KK, I prefer to use square file chain because it cuts a little faster and is much better for milling and ripping, so it is just better for all around use for me.

I often convert round to square because almost no one sells square around here (unless they attend our GTGs). You go into a Stihl store and ask for square file chain and they will look at you like you are from Mars! I did buy a bunch from a member on another site who is a dealer.

I know who's 044 SVK ran years ago!!!! As I remember, he liked it better than any of the other saws I owned at the time!
