The one dealer near me was selling 461's for 30 bucks less than MSRP...I asked the Ace by my house if they would match and the guy got very angry and said "THEY CANT DO THAT"

When I bought my 241 from yet another dealer (most dealers in my area didn't know it existed and some actually argued with me about it's existence) I said "hey this is my first Stihl ever after running Huskies all my life, can you maybe throw in a hat or something"...."Nope" ...."Ok then."
Yeah it sucks that some dealers think their **** doesn't stink and they are doing you a favor selling you something. I drive almost an hour to my dealer when there is one less than 5 minutes away but he's a Richard and it would have to be life or death for me to buy from him.

I'm telling you guys! "Madsen's Shop and Supply!" They have dang near factory direct prices and are not bias towards STHIL or Husky. Ive been dealing with Madsen's for 25 close to 30 years now! They are the only saw shop I go through. I don't even consider my local STIHL or Husky dealers!
For example, A 661 at my local STIHL dealer is over $1800 set up with a 32" 50g bar and chain. They dont even stock 63g gear!
Madsen's price for just the 661 power head $1300 and you can order any bar and chain set up you want for no more than $200 more and that's for a long expensive bar and high quality saw chain!
Check it out guys.

I was under the impression that dealers couldn't ship saws. Might be worth a call. Thanks!

Edit: Stihl Dealers

From Madsen website
"Stihl prohibits selling or ordering of Stihl equipment over the Internet. Husqvarna also prohibits Internet sales on all pro saws. So if you are interested in purchasing a new saw from us, please visit our shop. Otherwise, see your local Stihl or Husqvarna retailer."
It does say Internet sales so maybe a phone order is ok.
I know my dealer has shipped saws to a member here.

I order from Madsen's by phone all the time. Never had an issue. You can pay with debit or credit card. They ship COD also!👍

They are quoted "The Pro's Choice" for a reason! Madsen's IS NOT a "logging" supply. They cater specifically to Timber Fallers, but also to Power Saw Mechanics, Chainsaw Millers, and also folks that just enjoy running Powersaw on a regular basis. They deal in both STHIL and Husky. 👍 Although I don't know why anyone would want a Husky???🤷

I know their site had the best diagrams and description of square filing chain that I ever found. It really helped me understand what I was doing!
Yes very detailed descriptions, on understand how and why a chain cutter dose what it dose. They cover everything in detail. Square or Round. Hook radius (round), plate angles, gullets, raker angle and riding depth or "depth gage" as some call it. They cover everything you need to know about how different grinds and tunes performe best in different woods. 👍

Actually he found the cover finally and it is an 015 are they that bad??
Hated the one I had, heavy and gutless. Didn't care ro work on it either. Happiest day of owning it was tossing it in the box to ship it to its new owner.
Thought you said he needed a gasket set? Could be loosing my mind. There were a bunch of used covers on evil bay

Today's felling...another 25-30. Maybe that .any left to drop.

Made a bunch of skid work for the owner, lol.

I miss doing stuff like that. Been too busy since I started at the park, and helping my logging buddy keeps me in wood pretty good.

Well fellas stihl no millin today since I got out there too late and decided to pull 8 game cam cards across 2 miles of trudging through slush instead. The rails and mill are ready to go and I have the beginning of next week off to make some 14” boards for board and batten siding. The final dimensions of the tiny cabin build will need a bit more deciding on what W and L for beams. The poplar will be for the interior trim.
