I know NOTHING about logging, your situation or what you're doing with the logs. But it looks like you're clear cutting an area for a purpose? Seems like some of those logs are too small do do anything with. Better to give them 10-20 years?
Yes, some of the logs are really small.... I have a market for cedar lumber down to 1x4 so we cut the tiny ones too..... down to 4.5" to 5".

This cedar is being dozed for a home owner that wants more clear area around his house, so anything I don't take it gets burned.

Totally agree with you guys on controlled burns. They are ugly for a few years and then turn into beautiful rich forests that are nearly impervious to forest fire for many years.

Those areas who prevent them usually end up paying the price.
Logging is a much better way to reduce fire hazard than “controlled” burns, utilize the renewable resource instead of burn it, actually make some money instead of costing tax payers money, less pollution and erosion. Some area’s there so much dead, rotten trees it’s not worth logging but if it’s actively managed to begin with it doesn’t get to that point. Ok I’ll get off my logger soap box, lol.

Another return 070 clone in impeccable shape that was returned because the customer flooded it and gave up. $160!

And there was a 20% coupon so I grabbed an 070 clone build kit for about $176.

I think we need to pay homage to the "New Neotec King"

Um....you missed a piece.

A friend and me, cut this load of firewood last month,

Anyway, today was the day to split that load, so we got everything setup,

Using the plank in the pict. makes it easy to roll the big rounds right onto the splitters beam from the wagon, and then we got to splitting!

and filling my half cord boxes right off the end of the splitter means less handling of the splits , not having to pick them up off the ground! And then moving the boxes out of the way with the tractor,

With the boxes filled,

I ended up with the four boxes, or two cords total of nice oak splits!

Reminds me, I need to dig out the c channel and get it cut to fit the stake pockets in my trailer. I have 2x4 cut like yours currently, broken a few more off then I'd like to admit. Sure wish I had some of that cedar, it's some beautiful wood for siding a building.

I agree, wish they would manage our forests better around here. They let the tops lay and any "junk" logs but were not allowed to take them. You can get fire wood permits, but not around my area. Hate seeing them do a burn, they just did one not far from my house about a month ago. Total carnage that will be barron for years.
I sure miss that pretty obs you used to have...
