A friend and me, cut this load of firewood last month,

Anyway, today was the day to split that load, so we got everything setup,

Using the plank in the pict. makes it easy to roll the big rounds right onto the splitters beam from the wagon, and then we got to splitting!

and filling my half cord boxes right off the end of the splitter means less handling of the splits , not having to pick them up off the ground! And then moving the boxes out of the way with the tractor,

With the boxes filled,

I ended up with the four boxes, or two cords total of nice oak splits!

I wish my set up was that efficient. What make of tractor is running the splitter?

Well I finally have a picture of wood to share :omg:.
The boy and I went out back today and I split up the red oak and black locust I had cut a couple weeks ago, then I cleaned up the area in the top of the gulley where the big red oak went in and knocked a couple black locust trees down and took the tops out of a couple others. Now that area is pretty close to ready when/if I rent a tracked skid to do some of the digging/grading in the pond, it's starting to take a bit longer as I need to turn around at the bottom of the hole because traction is an issue backing out.
We got equivalent to 4 buckets like this. The area to the left needs to be filled in, but I won't do that until the dam is completely finished unless I hit a pocket of fist sized rocks I just want to bury.

Found a few different types of ants in the wood too, these guys are the smallest, then a group of carpenter ants were the biggest. Normally I would have my little propane torch with me to make them crunchy :blob2:, but it was so dry I skipped that; I like fire, but no need to create a problem, theres enough going on already! I've noticed most the ants I find in black locust are in a section that has damage like this piece.

Reminds me, I need to dig out the c channel and get it cut to fit the stake pockets in my trailer. I have 2x4 cut like yours currently, broken a few more off then I'd like to admit. Sure wish I had some of that cedar, it's some beautiful wood for siding a building.

Yeah, I'm pretty dumb..... I've hauled probably around 200 loads of logs on this trailer, and never taken the time to make stakes until yesterday...... somebody kick me please....

:buttkick:you're welcome :).
Plan on making some for my 25' trailer, I some aluminum C-channel already, not sure if that will be strong enough. I also have steel C-channel, but I would rather have the C-channel break before the rails on the trailer, that would suck. I'll probably make some with the aluminum first and see how they hold up, maybe make two and then slam a few logs on them here at the house to give them a little test prior to making a bunch. I know 2x4's aren't strong enough, at least pine ones aren't, maybe I need to have @Sawyer Rob make me some out of black locust.

It's a "Deutz", made in Germany, it's 30 PTO HP air/oil cooled diesel that runs and runs and runs on a gallon of fuel at 1400 RPM,

I bought this tractor in the 80's for $3,500.00 and its cost me nothing in repairs since I've owned it...

I think you're a conspiracy theorist...
I saw that video too, and the video of the helicopter dumping something on fire on the forest to start it.
Can't remember where I saw it though.
I'd like to see that video too. Just too coincidental that all these fires started at the same time.

@Sierra_rider Worked up all four of these
Black Cotton Wood with the 260 Pro Modified. This little saw makes awsome power Pard!👍 Thanks again. I never even fired up the 661!

Cut safe, stay sharp and be aware!😉

Sweet! A ported 50cc saw is always fun to run. My dealer finally got those bearings in for your 046, they claim the slow orders are caused by Stihl. IDK how true that is, but I give them the benefit of the doubt because the usually have all that stuff in stock for the newer saws.
