Yup it a thing, 👍

They already upgraded that saw in 2020 with better crank bearings, taller top cover and better air filter. I had one and it screamed. I sold it for a profit as I wasn't using it enough to justify having it around.
If they be goin' BIG BORE, to take on the 400, put me on the list.

The big difference is that your tractor is a big machine that doesn't require a ballast weight. If I fill the loader bucket on my Kioti NX4510 my tractor was no traction in the rear or off the ground.
EXACTLY, and that is what I was pointing out, even the smaller "farm tractors" don't need any ballast for utility loader work.

Farm tractors are a lot heavier to start out with over the wanna be farm tractors, called compacts.

You could rip the insulation into 2' sections and use a heavy gauge z-furing between the trusses to support it. You can contact a local gypsum supplier to get a feel for the price and ask advice, then based on the gauge they recommend contact a local sheet metal shop and see what they'd charge to custom bend it for you. That way you could instal the insulation between the rafters and the metal right next to it, but you's want a proper barrier for that application, a roofing supply house would be best to give you that info. You could also use that same style z-furing to install the insulation just below the trusses if you want to go the vented route, both are accepted methods depending on the circumstances.
Same z would work for the walls as it would support it at the seems, just like on the roof.
Yeah, insulation and any accessories that go with it are :envy::envy::envy::envy::envy:, but at the same time, they are one of the few things that offer the ROI they do when it comes to construction.
Yeah, I gotta make some calls when the time comes. It would be pretty easy to run some z gurts in-between the trusses and poles and go about insulating that way. Both my brothers work for a fab shop, so getting metal and having it bent is just the cost of materials, so thats definitely a possibility.
I never kept them on the desktop, only long enough to put them where I wanted (mostly in the picture file). This computer sends them to "Drive E". which should show in the "My
Computer Icon on the desktop. Computer does not have that icon. I did find it once by searching for it and found it chock full of pictures that came with the computer. Can't find mine in the mess.
That sucks, there should be a way to change where they download to make them easier to find. My laptop is decrepit so they just go to the pictures file under whatever the main drive it. (I want to say drive C ?) My wife's laptop has a sub folder in downloads for pictures.
nah, don't see the need, it's pretty close to the 500 and 462 for weight, and I have those and a ported 261 in that flavor. To be honest, it's one of the new saws I haven't ran yet, that and a 592.
If you every get around my place, you're welcome to stop by and run mine.
That front tensioner would be putting the hurt on me.
I've only owned one 395(iirc), and I bought it solely to sell.
Glad I don't cut big trees too often or mill, but if I did I'd probably just get a ported 660 or a ported 661.
390xp. 394/5 sucks for felling. I have both and the 394xp just sits expect for milling. (Which I haven't done since my cousin got a mill.) The 390xp get all the felling and chunking chores. It's much more nimble in the hands and not all that far off power wise from the 394xp.
Winter this year will be a mild one says the wooley bear. A wide brown band means a milder Winter. This is the 6th one that I have seen with a wide brown band.
Man I hope it mild, but we're way over due for a nasty one around here.

No, they do you're just choosing not to use any. Pull up the manual and show where it say no ballast required for loader work. I tried, but I'm not paying for a manual for your tractor.
Compact tractors arnt wanna be farm tractors either, they fill a role that a larger tractor can't. We don't all need 100+hp on tap or have the room for a magnum 200. Heck my old man's L245dt is darn near too big for my needs, it's every bit of real farm tractor as our old 300 farm all was.

That was after the other upgrades they did to it in 2015/16 or so such as the flippy caps and vented top covers. They also got a beefier case, which unfortunately brings them right to the point of where the ms400 is to the 462/500i, except with the 372oe.
Here's my ported 562.

And the ported 365(not special, but special, right Steve lol), same bar/chain as the 562 and I ran the 562 first to give it the advantage for this exact comparison. Look up the weights, you may be surprised, and the 562 got fatter when they did the upgrades :(. That's also why I like the late model 550mk1 over the 550mk2. Which was a stupid move in my opinion as I don't think it got them any more market share, and they had already worked the issues out, Now it's just a fat 50cc saw with the same basic power as a late model 261. What's even worse in my mind is that the dolmar 5105 has been out forever and it's the same specks as a 550mk2 , idiots :dumb:.
The 372oe in slightly modded form, muffler mod and base gasket delete keeps up no problem as it has a bit more grunt.

That's sweet, maybe that will be a good route to go then.

I like the options on the 572 better than a 390, so I'd probably have Kevin port one of those for me if I wanted a medium sized wood saw. But for cutting lots of bigger wood or milling, I'd probably go with a ported 660 or 661. Hows that front tensioner when the 394 is on the milling attachment.

Truthfully, if I didn't need a saw to finish a job, and I could have got another 562xp, I would have. But, the 400 has a decent bit more grunt and weighs the same as the 562xp. Having said that, I'd take another 562xp in a heartbeat. Up till we couldn't get parts it ran great from day one. Still a 5 bolt case with the original el42 carb on it. Did rings on it once, which kinda spited since it was the next summer that the carb went the way of the dodo.

Oh, yeah I've ran stock 572 and a mmws ported one. Heavy tank of a saw, but ported it's got some good snot. I should have ran it with the 390xp to see how far off it was.
The side tensioner sucks. Can't/won't deny it. Not terrible if your mill is stud mounted on the bar, but clamp on its a massive pain in the arse. Side tensioner is leaps and bounds easier.

Heat pump was running this morning, 65° in the house. Now it’s 75° in there and climbing.
I put 3 more splits in my heat pump, the house is now 73, almost like I planned it that way .
Probably won't put anything else in there til this evening, it's 44 out now and the sun is shining :havingarest:.

I totally get that. Can you swap everything out to run the el48 (iirc), coil/computer and harness.
Yep, sure the 400 is a great saw, still prefer the husky for ergonomics/handling.

The 572 runs right there with them with a 24 stock for stock mod for mod, but a ported one will keep up with a 32 or pull ahead of one with light mods.
I sold my XS572, with a ported 7900 there's no need for it.
Knew you would say that lol. I can't stand them myself, and I don't even mill, probably got spoiled on the 3 series saws(the real ones, not those 2.5 and 2.75 series saws like the 394/395  ).

A buddy of mine over near @Sawyer Rob place running his:chainsaw:.

This ones stroked, I think some guys on here have ran it when it was out east.

Yea , one of mine is a101AA and other regular 125C , there’s nothing that pulls big bars like a Kart Saw , 💪💪

Yeah, you can fully update them with all the new stuff, hl supply had fully built updated cases for like $200.00 (oem to boot.) A few years ago. So there's that of you wanted to fiddle around building one up with all the updated stuff. As far as I know, the only issue with the newer carb is it needs a different coil. Which was one of the hang ups getting mine fixed. It's actually one of the things that really annoys me with the auto tune system over m-tronic. The fricken carb needs programmed. Just swap the selinoid on a stihl.
Ergo 400 vs the 562. Meh it's largely the same imo. I wish the 400 had a purge bulb, but it starts quick enough without one. I don't care that I need a scrench to open the top cover of the 400 either, but as far as handling I could (and have) grab either and run all day. Just the individual quarks between them. I should have kept the 562 and fixed it, but selling it paid for 1/3 of the 400, sold a few other saws shortly after I got the 400 so it was "free" if you know what I mean.
I should have gotten the 390xp ported. If I ever have the spare cash I may yet. It doesn't see tons of use unless I need the 36" bar. That comes and goes in spurts. Heck I use the gz4000 more then the 400 or 390xp lol.

Lots of crap for sure. I know lots of guys who never did a thing, just swapped out whatever part was bad. The early autotune in the 576 there wasn't even a port iirc, either way you couldn't do anything to it.
