Good luck to the gang Mike. We had 2 rack buck outsmart me and my buddy this morning.Getting ready to leave for the cabin for opening day within 1/2 hr.
MechanicMatt, his Dad, his Sister, my Daughter and Grandson, and Matt's Nephew will all be there.
Wish us luck! One of the Bucks was on the cam last night, but not clear which one. Also had a bear the night before, but just turkeys this morning!
Good Luck! I’ll be going out Monday or Tuesday… still swamped…Getting ready to leave for the cabin for opening day within 1/2 hr.

I didn't realize the 12mm 044 had flippy caps, but you know I certainly don't know all things stihl, heck I don't know much about huskys.I was thinking a 12mm 044. No real difference between that and a 440.
Looks like a 440 with an 044 top to me. Funny mine happened to be set up that way too. There are so many of those ole saws out there, gotta do what you gotta do to keep them looking good, that one looks really good.Dunno maybe a bitza? I had a 361 when I found this, ran em side by side turning a 42" gray elm into firewood. The "044" was the clear winner, both power and handling, sold on the 361.

Saw this yesterday near Chicago and thought you might enjoy seeing it. I looked it up because I new it would be rare if it was Bob's . It seems it's a replica car that they do shows with, the owner said he's done 8.15s with it.I remember a guy in HS had a freaky fast 396 Chevelle, but it wasn't good enough for him. So, he sold the 396 motor to buy a 427 motor, and no matter what he did to it, the car was slower!
When you find lightning in a bottle, just keep it!
Would an 044 with flippys be “sort of special”? Lol.I didn't realize the 12mm 044 had flippy caps, but you know I certainly don't know all things stihl, heck I don't know much about huskys.

Those swisher splitters are pretty neat the way they disengage the motor from the engine/pump. Sure makes them easier to start in cold weather.

You know we are not going to get to 6000 pages very soon if you keep replying to 26 posts with one. Quit it!I didn't realize the 12mm 044 had flippy caps, but you know I certainly don't know all things stihl, heck I don't know much about huskys.

Very lol.Would an 044 with flippys be “sort of special”? Lol.
Okay, that's what I was thinking. Yep, same with the 372's, even though guys could just buy a new Brazilian version.Chipper is correct, an original 044 would have screw caps ... but a lot of them have am handles now!
I usually try to keep a bunch of similar posts together, unfortunately the current platform this site is run on, that's not as easy as it once was.You know we are not going to get to 6000 pages very soon if you keep replying to 26 posts with one. Quit it!
Yeah, I agree.Don’t be a like whore aka backyard lumberjack… Judicious use of multi-quote is appreciated; especially by those of us who use phones versus computers.
Only if you can flip itWould an 044 with flippys be “sort of special”? Lol.
Been past that spot more times than I care to remember, I was usually in the 3rd lane with the hammer down.I didn't realize the 12mm 044 had flippy caps, but you know I certainly don't know all things stihl, heck I don't know much about huskys.
