I hear ya Bob. I'm all...............most there. 70. Them 50CC saws get heavier every time I go out to cut. :dumb2:
Dad has a big ole heavy 70cc Echo saw, better of 20 lbs I'd say dressed with a 20in bar and full of fuel and oil. He said when he bought it in his 30s it was a man maker, cause it would make a man out of you, now he says in his 60s its a man killer, cause its killing the man it made lol

At my old house we used to have a very calm herd. They would graze in fields all day. Then new neighbor moved in and brought a bunch of idiots in from everywhere (more or less guiding "friends") and had those morons stomping all over everywhere including trespassing.. The deer went completely noctournal after that for years.

I agree with that, but the frustration this year (up at the cabin, where the hunting is ALWAYS tough) we have a big 10 buck casually walking up the driveway 70 yds from the stand Matt's sister is in (she was looking the other way) on Sunday at 9:30 (the day after opening day)! We also have an 8 pt on the back logging road a noon on opening morning. You can't make this stuff up! No one was hunting the back logging road!

Note: date on camera for 8 pt was not set correctly.
Yeah… you need your head on a slow swivel. I recall one time I was watching my ex on her first deer hunt. I watched a doe walk behind her maybe 50 feet away in the open. The doe went maybe a 100 yards and laid down. After a while I used the terrain for cover and went over to check on my ex. Knowing the answer I asked if she saw anything… Then I took her over and showed her the doe. This wasn’t to embarrass her it was as a teaching moment.

With all the deer at my mom’s I tell her and visitors to look… often times they don’t see the deer. I guess we long time hunters forget that we’ve developed a skill that isn’t in most people…

They do. Their habits change the first day, and then they go back to taunting you the day after the last day.
I hunted hard one year with nothing to show. Went down back to pull my camera card the day after season ended. About 20 minutes after season a big buck was on my camera right near my stand. I kept that pic as a reminder.

About 20 feet today had to take multiple breaks as it was 24 degrees out and also the fuel was jelling so the Kubota would start stumbling. Had to use my propane torch to warm the metal filter and it would be fine for a while . I did add some conditioner to it but I’m going to buy some fresh diesel . The diesel I had in it and the 5 gallon container is from early fall . Hopefully it helps

Anti Gel additive will fix that for you. My Kioto does the same around 20 degrees.

Tractor Supply has Bar and Chain oil on sale for $6,99 a gallon. I cleaned them out today.

I saw a nice buck down on the median of 84 near the east bound exit for 9… Worst case a rack could be recovered.😉

We must have better blended fuel here in Michigan. Rarely do I here of anything gelling up around here, especially when it's above 0. When I drove truck, most of the otr drivers kept a bottle of 911 in their truck, and the only times you heard of anyone needing it were during extreme cold snaps in the Dakota's or out west.

Your fuel filter may be clogged. My previous Cub Cadet Mitsubishi diesel had that issue all the time in the Winter if I wasn't running anti gel or cutting the diesel fuel with kerosene.

Damned global warming strikes again!

Hopefully things go better tomorrow.

Well, I am up at the cabin with my younger daughter. The snow is deep enough that the bottom of the truck was scraping, but I do love those Blizzaks! We made it up!

Took an extra hour as we had to stop 8 times to cut stuff. We saw tracks going into my property (2 deer) but it seems the chainsaw had them streaking clear across the property. As a result, we came back to the cabin, with lots of snow and 14* not seeing anything, and my other daughter (who lives in NH) sends this picture. Seems it crossed the road in front of her car and she got out to take a picture, and it just looked at her!

Eat your hearts out! You can't make this stuff up!

I replaced the fuel filters when I did the oil in the summer . Guess it’s just the summer blend in it . I got 5 gallons of fresh but I’ll add some anti-gel just for insurance.

Tractor supply had the bar oil I bought them out and got a rain check for more IMG_9472.jpegIMG_9473.jpeg

The fuel was bought in the summer so they don’t put any anti-gel in it
