I just changed the oil in the van. I'm guessing it would split the oil and gas about 50/50. Might seize up or shoot fire not sure which.

Well from the pic, I don't see oil running out...................yet.

Perhaps:

The vertical position is simply intended to be used for storage. This would save considerable floor space when not in use. Assuming that it is designed in a way that the engine sump oil will not leak into the cylinder and out through the valves...

I believe that machine pivots like all the rest of the vertical/horizontal splitters do, at least that is what their manufacturer says:

Look at it in the horizontal position, you would have to straddle the tire to set a round on it. You can see the latch for swinging it vertical, guess he missed that.

Looking at the FIRST pic, it seemed like a heck of a good price, after seeing the SECOND pic, not so much

Heaven above only knows how else that machine has been abused

I would take a pass on that one.
