Hello,
I have been a pretty die hard Stihl guy for over 25 years but after running a 372XP and then a 288 and a 395 I’m thinking about purchasing my first Husqy!
It will be used primarily for oak firewood we have massive ones. Those that don’t get slabbed will get burned. I’m really just looking at the 592. Can anyone tell me some pros and cons? How much run time on a tank of fuel? Problems with auto tune or diagnostics etc. Weak points or immediate upgrades? It’s going to replace my 661 as my main wood cutter so I’ll be disappointed about no bark box or maxflow! Point me in the right direction and help me squeeze the trigger! The wife will hate you but I will be eternally grateful!

Hey warrior, I have seen your local ads, we're almost neighbors, I'm in Trinity county. I noticed no response to this thread. I'm a Stihl guy too only because of availability of everything. My first saw back in the late 80s was a 298xp and I loved it. I would stick with 394-95's if you want a big husky but that's all I can say. Can you still buy a 592 in Cali or must you drive to Medford? Fewer emission controls up there anyway.

Thanks Sam! I appreciate the response. By brother lives in Eureka, dad was a logger there in the 70’s. Currently living east of Redding on the Pitt River its beautiful here.
Well I have not pulled the trigger on the 592 yet. Since I run a sawshop have been doing lots of repairs and the 5-series have been a PIA. As I am not (yet) a husqy dealer and don’t have access to their software, diagnosing issues sucks. Because of this I have decided for now to stick with my Stihls and clones.
The 592xp is emission compliant so they should be available locally. Most Husqvarna, Stihl and Echo saws I get at wholesale and will continue to sell and service them.
My passion will for now remain with non emission non strato saws in my humble opinion the epitome of chainsaw technology.

Sorry it's a cherry 394 up yesterday

Hi,
I lived in McKinleyville briefly in the late 1990s
Beautiful country and wonderful, down to earth neighbors!
As mentioned by sawmill sam, I'd look for a 394 or 395. Great saws with a very established reputation and parts supply and without the need for computer diagnostics.
372s are a good option for a smaller Husky too.
Good luck.
