BTW too, what ever happened to that 2000.00 worth of Huskies you was going to buy a month ago. Was you pulling someones leg Sap, hmm. I got a very good memory Sap, shouldn't say things that might come back on ya. So where are those babies, we wanna see these 2000.00 worth of Huskies you said you was going to buy. Post them pics Sap,hehe............

Let's see...in the past month or so I've already bought 2 Husky's, at $369 for the 455 and $200 for the 137, plus a 24" bar for the 455 at $60, plus 2 chains at about $45 each, a pair of chaps at $75, plus assorted other accessories, files, etc...somewhere around $50 worth or so. How much is that so far...$844 or so? Plus, (I believe I said that) in the next 6 months or so I intend on getting at least one large saw to run a MKIII mill, and possibly another one to run a chainsaw-powered bandsaw mill (if I decide that's the way I want to go)...plus assorted extra bars, chains, etc.

I'm curious....what part of that math don't you (speaking as a highly trained dealer) understand? And why do you need me to draw you a picture?

How about this:

:chainsaw: + :chainsaw: + :chainsaw: + (maybe :chainsaw:) + accessories = $$$$$$$ (that won't be going to a Stihl dealer)

Ok Sap, glad to see ya keeping your word. I just notice you haven't mementioned your new 137 saw so forgive me for assuming you was pulling everyones leg. As for math still don't add up to 2000.00 but I won't heckle you on that long as your keeping your word. As for highy trained yep your correct about that. If you was dealing with me I would have had your 2 grand by now and sent you home smiling. Just today, get this Sap, young man comes in to pick up his Dolmar he left yesterday to have a look at. See I make exceptions too just like Spike. Unfortantly he had fried the saw, piston scored to bits, wasn't anything I could do with it. So I called him and told him I have no Dolmar parts and really the lil saw wasn't worth fooling with. It was a lil ole thing. I didn't charge him for popping off the muffler and taking a look cause I'm a nice feller, one with a plan as you will see here. He came in today to get his Dolmar and I joked with him, come on in the back room here and pick yourself out another saw. Time we got done he left without a saw but instead a 470.00 blower, a 400.00 weed trimmer and a 400.00 hedge trimmer. Whats that add up to Sap, bout 1300.00. Thats a highly trained salesman at his best Sap. Man comes to pick up his burnt up saw and leaves 30 minutes later having spent 1300.00 he never intended to spend at all. So Sap can't argu with you on being highly trained as I'm sure your getting the picture too. See I told ya you and me are friends,haha....

Sorry, I just assumed you'd have seen the 137 in this thread:

I like the little 137 too. Very smooth starting and smooth running little saw.

So...if I've got this right, a guy comes in needing a saw fixed and you end up not fixing his saw, but instead selling him everything but a new saw ....to the tune of $1300? That doesn't sound like you did him any favors to me. Is that what they teach in Stihl school....how to sucker the customer into buying everything but what he really came in there for? LOL! You're right...I don't think you and I would do well in a customer/salesman relationship....as there's nothing I hate more in a retail environment than a pest of a salesman trying to sell me stuff I don't need :)

I will say this though...this site was a valuable resource to read thru regarding the breaking in of new saws. I ended up mixing 28:1 ...2.6 oz of dino and 2 oz of synthetic. Figured I'd cover all the bases and keep it on the rich side considering the workout I was giving them right from the get-go :)

hahha, I'd have you running to the bank getting more money Sap to come back and buy more. Sap how was I suppose to fix his Dolmar, I'm not a Dolmar dealer, have no parts so think maybe I shoulda stuck a Stihl piston and jug on it, hmmmmmmmmmmm. As for pestering the guy, didn't pester him at all. I answered every question he had on every product he was inquiring about. See Sap some of us know what were talking about. He was so impressed with my knowledge of the products he had to have them. Wasn't gonna tell ya but when he brought his lil Dolmar in yesterday he had with it a Husky 137 like yours. He wanted me to cut a chain for it since no one in town deals in Husky. I fixed him up on that saw too. Now that he knows where all the goodies are and a man that knows what he's talking about your Husky dealer isn't gonna get anymore of his money, he done found a home. You say Stihl isn't gonna get your 2 grand but as you can see you aren't the only cat in town which is what everyone has been trying to tell you throughtout this thread. BTW that Husky 137 is a nice lil saw. Made by Poulan though but even so its a ok saw, I kinda liked it and I told the man so too. See brand doesn't matter to me, salesmen could care less about brand. I may sell you yet Sap so be carefull. Also in case ya didn't know those 45.00
apiece chains you spoke of cost your dealer about 10.00 so he's not doing you any favors Sap, he's nailing you hard. See only a friend would tell you that..................................

Hey sap fixed that pic up for you so we could see a little closer to the grain. I blew it up more but your cam does not have high resolution unless you had it on a low setting. Too bad would have been nice to see the grain. But here it is as close as I can get.

Arnie, it'd be a good idea to save in a format other than bitmap. Here's your picture in 1/10th the size of yours.

  1. Nice saws Sap.

ok Sap my mistake

I went and read the thread on your Husky 137. I can't believe I missed that when you posted it because I always go check to see what ole Sap has to say. I guess I'm slipping, please forgive me. You had some great pics on that thread too, really ya did. Nice sawing there, I have to hand it to you sincerely. Now that I'm kssing your hiny do ya forgive me for missing that post, you better cause ya never know when I might bite ya in the a--.haha...

Made by Poulan though but even so its a ok saw, I kinda liked it and I told the man so too.

Uh, no. Assembled in USA of parts made in Sweden. At least that's what it says right on the saw on the little metal tag next to the bar mounts....which I don't imagine they're allowed to lie about. (Although it is apparently assembled in a factory owned by Electrolux where Poulans are also made.)

Who cares anyways...heck, there's a boatload of Stihl models made right here in the USA too...actually made here... parts and all. Put that in your snobbish Stihl pipe and smoke it. :) Besides, since when did 'made in the USA' become a bad thing? Only to Stihl fans who think they're getting a German-made saw, evidently. :)
