No you CANNOT. This is for Sap only. On account of he's such a nice guy. Matter of fact I'm thinking about offering him a job in the woods this year...kind of a choker setter trainee position. Anybody want to get in on the pool for how long it'd take for his attitude to get him clobbered?
Chokerman huh? Well at least he would know what half a choker is, the KNOB part that is, now where does it go?

Well, I"d put the nob in the bell but I'll let everyone else do whatever they want. Part of the wilderness experience that most people from the wine (whine?) country never get to try.

Great input ! I have building my business for 10 years and have been doing it all wrong . When we have grown over the years and had more customers and more business i hired more people to handle the work and service ...... I didnt know i should of truned them away , i cant believe i have been building my business wrong all these years . I wish i had a business that i made too much money and had too much business that i could send them packing and just cherry pick who i wanted to serve . Thanks for the insite . I need me a "send them packing policy" too . I can see the money rolling in already .
LOL that is what I was thinking also. I would never consider exanding my business. I would just turn people away. That way I could make even more money.

Couldn't choke a log, can barely choke his chicken. Chokermen are a dying breed now, its all grapple yarder. How about a job bucking at the sort, with a 455?

Sorry David, its not over yet!!!! I don't know why he can't get it!!!!!! Me thinks it's "educated beyond his inteligence" seen it many a time before. Too much college, not enough brain cells:buttkick: Usually happens to engineer types, and home owners trying to save a buck!!!!!
Sap, get over it agian, the small box store, yes that is where you are buying you're huskys ( don't blow smoke to me) are Poluans:( They run fine and are decent saws, but not Swedish. I have no problem with a Sihl mad in USA, doesn't make a crap to me, as long as it runs:clap:
$45 a loop for chain???????????????????? WOW!!!!!!!!!! I think I heard of a guy with a 72" bar paying that once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you get a jar of vasoline or a kiss with that?:jawdrop:

Theres still a few cat shows around that use chokers...not too many anymore, granted. Bucking would be too easy for this guy. Lets put him to bumping knots AND bucking on a Skycrane side with a short turn time. Him and his little 455 would do such a good job that they'd probably make him the siderod by lunchtime.

I think he's angling for the highly paid job of AS moderator... but the site would first have to move to Northen Idaho..
If Sap takes over, the destination would be Roswell, NM

You are a tard, I paid under $30 for a chain for a 37" bar on a 2101, that is a mans saw, you couldn't even start it, never mind use it, go sit in the truck if you want to help.

Ouch!! What's worse is that I have had to do that before to an "iimpediment" to getting work done.

I am really late to this thread

But let me put my input in.
This subject is what makes my job harder and harder every day.
right now i have a Jonsered owner from wisconsin living in North La. he has 3 jonsered saws with repairs needed (one needs a kill switch the other probly a new clutch ect.) his nearest serviceing dealer is 30 min away. Well that particular dealer also handles lawnmowers trimmers and the like. He informed the saw owner when he called that he had more than enough buisness and did not want to take on buisness from other parts of the area and that he should look for somone else to work on the saw. When i heard this it drove me nuts. i called the dealer for an explination of why if he was going to carry my product why he would not service it if bought somwhere else. He made a very good point. there is no money in service, people ready to work and trained on small engine repaire are hard to find at least around me. and somtimes bigger is not always better his shop already has 3 full time techs and 1 full time parts person and a part time counter person with no room or desire to expand. Last time i was in his shop i helped unload at least three customers lawnmowers, trimmers and a saw that was in an hours visit.
On the same hand i know have a customer who is upset with my company because we do not have a service dealer in his immediate area. (he lives in a moderatly sized city) all of our dealers are usually where the timber is.
It hurts business for me but i have to respect the dealers decision and do my best to help the customer find somone to work on his saws.

And as a side note a shop that does not have a backlog of work in the busy season can not have a good reputation 99% of the time i can tell the quality of work a shop does by the amount of customers patiently waiting for there equipment.
