this is what i do now that im cutting alot. been putn the 066 to work and got it dialed in now. ive only been cutn blow downs and some big uns a couple 40 plus that the 66 whipped through pine and fur. still like my 440 best though. cuts everything like its butter.
the 026 is the limber and gets used the least so far. i do most my limbing with the 440 and ill buck till i get past the 28" bar and switch to the 32" 066 then ounce im past the 32 tip im bucking from both sides again
heres the big pine, this was a couple loads in the pickup, racks cab high on my dualy. also got the smaller stuff
havent yet drug the trailer to mtn still scouting around.
heres the country im working in this is lower elevation guessn 6k. still have snow up at the 9k mark where i normaly cut, heck its just now getn to the 60-70 temps down in town 3200ft and snowed in town only a month ago
then to the bench. the 440 is always first to get the file then the 66 then 26 since its rarely used. im free handing the cutters then useing a fileoplate on the rakers. buddy of mine cuts alittle wood has a ms 310, hes been tagn along. he watched me sink the 440 past the tip in that pine thrown huge chips and barely slowing down i couldnt help but grin when i turned to him watchn me cut.
he doesnt even sharpn his own chain , was amazed i was getn mine to cut like that on my own. this also got me to wonderin how many pay to have a chain sharpend?
i quarted rds down on the rd with the 066 and that thing is flat out a beast. only problem ive found is when wet i cant even keep the big clutch cover clear on both the 440 and 66. i never found this to be problem in dry wood.
anyways heres the pic on the bench. i chuck the bar in the vice and get to grinding .
ill pretty much be cutn and sharpening chains non stop untill the snow flies in the fall then delivering wood once the temp starts to drop
anyways thats it for now. sorry no vids of the 66 throwin chips. ill wait to get in some 30" dry fir were it slows down alittle
later
