Hi Jonny, the beauty of the 16"/ 066 combo, is that, not only is it a fibre muncher, but it is so easy to handle and will out cut any woodtick for miles around.

You have to understand that i live in the land of being watched by some gov't person on how i cut the tree down , if you cut 5 days a week here you will be checked 4 of those days by someone , it is crazy but thats the law here so live with it or get out, and you have to have your trees marked , it does not matter if you own your on land, so you got the tree marker watching you , the forester, labour board, ministry of bawg and swamps so you just never know who is behind the next tree
so by there standers you better look around the other side of the tree and cut your corners or they give you sh!t and if you do it to many time you get a fine, you have to be licenced here to cut in the bush. it use to be that you could go out to the dealers and buy a long bar but now a 24 inch is as long as they carry and most guys use a 20 inch here , it is just different and it sucks but that is our loving gov't for you

it is just another way oftrying to get you to quite logging here , we have tons and tons of tree lovers here and they are trying to control what you can and cannot do, i guess in some ways it is like out west where you cannot skid with a skidder cause of cutting the groung up , well here if you work for the big mills they mark your trails for you and you cannot go off them , so you need a long cable and pull it to the trees, it is weird i know , soon you will not be able to p!ss around the backside of the tree unless you know one of those guys are watching you , then go for it

why all the stiff regulations? seems crazy allright, specially with the corners

Why? Because they allowed it to happen and now we seem to be allowing it to happen. The belief that somehow a group of people sitting in white building somewhere can make better decisions about how we should live our lives better than we can. Can you say Liberalism? My apologies to whomever I might offend, but it just sets me off every time I think about it.  :angry2:

I think you guys have more say in USA than we do here in the great white north, up here they just tell you bend over buddy and get ready cause here it comes, i could go on and on but that just gets me more p!ssed off

agreed, with both of you
we all know most of them canuks wanna have everything done for them, keep them poor

we all know we can rant our @sses off here, and does nothing but pi$$ off the libs. thats fun, but sometimes it gets too far. were just simple working men who want to be left the he!! alone, eh?

Hi
I know what you are talking about. It seems that both of our governments are ran by, what I call college educated idiots. I am by no means making fun of anyone with more education that what I or anyone else has. Those people are highly trained and are very skilled in what they do. From what I have seen, a lot of those people are intelligent but have absolutely no common sense.
The state of Pa just make a new decision on purchasing black top for paving our roads.
Each county had to get bids from different plants. The contract went to the lowest bidder. The problem now is that out state trucks have to drive past 2 black top plants to pick up there load. That will be an added 80 mile per trip, to save .50 a ton on materials. According to the state, this will save us tax payers money.

If more of the decision makers grew up working on farms and in the woods, things would be a whole lot different. The way it is now, most of them are city dwellers or if they are from rural areas, it was an estate, not a farm. Most of them don’t see black and white, just a shades of liberal grays and pink. Most of them have never put down an animal that was suffering or to mean to keep around. Things like that teach you that sometimes tuff choices need to be made, not ignored.

Think I will go to a happier place now: http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14049

I love Canadians but not necessarily their politics. They provide an interesting counterpoint to our American beliefs, and sometimes I find that the best way of thinking is somewhere in the middle.

For the most part, Canadian cities are very clean and safe places to be a tourist, not so true here in the US. People in the Canadian cities that I have visited also seem to be very active and oriented toward walking or biking which I happen to like.

If you consider that the vast majority, around 80% I believe, of the 20 some odd million people who live in Canada, live in cities, you can begin to understand how they developed their tree hugger mentality. It`s simple ignorance in the same vein as the tree hugger mentality that thrives in our urban and suburban denizens.

When it`s all been said and done, I`m glad that Hillary has started the proceedings to annex all of Ontario and Quebec. With our social infrastructure here in NY, we will take good care of our new inhabitants.

To get this thread back on topic for this form, I want to point out that Rog is just shy of 4' tall. Objects are smaller than they may appear in your monitor, LOL.
