My Gosh! There's a great railroad museum there too. Go to it, it is pretty good. It has railroad cars, a movie, and describes the history of the Union Pacific and how it got to Collyfonia.

I have been to the Railroad Museum a few times, they have some excellent displays. I haven't been to the logging museum mentioned.

Where I live north of Marysville, there used to be three railroad lines and numerous sawmills. I have been told there were flumes that brought the logs down from Brownsville and the Woodleaf/Challenge area to the mills and railroads.

The remains of a milling operation was still standing across the road from me when I moved here in 1985, but it is long gone. The SPRR ran right past the front of my house, but was abandoned around 1950. The remains of the line can still be seen in some places, with trestle pilings and the gravel roadbed visible here and there.

A lot of history around here, it's sad to see it slowly disappearing.

Souds like a GTG to me. There is also Old Town, the state Capital, Sutter's Fort and free beer at Bob's house.

I could do Old Sac..can drink beer also.

Maybe I could gain some pointers on how to avoid decapitating myself when using the "good chain" as well.

????

OK! Fine! I'll bring a case of Hamm's.

They still make that stuff? I'm treating myself tonight. The old guy had to climb today and the Dos Equis is my reward for not doing anything stupid and fatal. Besides, it's the first beer of the year...and I need something to wash down the Excedrin while I'm soaking in the tub.
