You can "modify" these saws pretty fast just by pulling a tube out of the muffler.

Do you have a link that describes this mod, and any benefits/drawbacks?

You just remove the deflector, pull out the tube, and put the deflector back.

You should tune the carb afterward.

I am not sure if the 4910 has a cat in the muffler. A few of the older models do not.

Get an Archer/Pferd saw sharpener. This is a plastic thing that holds files. It will file the cutters and rakers at the same time. Sharp chain in 5 minutes.

Are you referring to the Pferd CSX 2 in 1 they also make for Stihl in orange & white? If so, I didn't know Archer was a part of that?

Maybe I got taken. I tried to find a Pferd, and Ebay listed this one as an Archer "replacement," making it look like Archer tad taken over making this tool.

Anyway, I haven't noticed any significant difference between this one and the Pferds.

I don't know if Archer is run by crooks or what, but the phrase "replaces" clearly implies the Pferd product was discontinued by Pferd and handed off to Archer. If Pferd and Archer have no business relationship, these people are scammers. Here's the ad, in case anyone else wants to check this out.

They sent me a string trimmer part by mistake, so I had to complain and get the saw sharpener shipped to me.

If it is stamped with "Made In Germany" on the plastic body, then it's probably made by Pferd for Archer like Pferd does for Stihl. If it's made in China, then it's an unlicensed clone/counterfeit.

The ads on Ebay for Chinese-made goods have been getting really sneaky lately. They post ads that appear to be for the genuine article with the correct part number and description, even a picture of the genuine item. Then they throw out phrases like "Replaces xxx" "Genuine replacement part" and even "OEM" when they are really cheap copies. You have to look the ad over carefully to be sure of what you are buying.
Archer products are mostly Chinese made goods sold through/by an Australian company to make them seem more legitimate to us here in the US.
Buyer beware.

I have an old Pferd file holder, used it to touch up my milling chains.

Have the newer ones/Stihl branded changed , much?

The quality of the files plays a big part regarding how long they will be able to sharpen the hard steel of the cutting teeth. Both Pferd and Stihl deliver their multi-file holders with high quality files. The plastic bits cost nothing, the quality files is what makes them costly.
Pls let us know if the Archer files wear out more quickly than expected....

Their have been reports the plastic is too flexy/flimsy on some of the chynees counterfeits of the Pferd CSX/Stihl 2in1.

I've noticed that when an Amazon and Ebay item description states that the item "replaces" something, it means that it can be used in place of that item. I use the word "can" instead of "is interchangeable with" because the interchangeability depends on the quality of the item which varies significantly. I'm sure the verbiage is intentionally misleading, but there's nothing anyone is going to do about it. The only effective way to deal with the issue is to pressure Amazon and Ebay to stop doing business in China, and that's not going to happen.

As far as being a straight up copy, china doesn't recognize patents from other countries so there's no use in Pferd trying to do anything about a chinese clone.
