We just walked in the door about a half an hour ago and it's almost 1:00 AM on Tuesday morning. We left Clearwater at about 6:30 AM local time, so it's been a long day.

So the first of hopefully many annual Clearwater Revivals is over for this year. I think everyone had a great time and it was especially nice to get to meet some of the people behind the posts on this board. Everyone competed except for Ginger and myself, although she got a chance to try out the two person bucking saw and I got to try out a few saws and get some pointers on how to race them.

The hospitality up there was first rate by any standard.

Here's the gang: Mike Rupley on the left, Dennis behind on the left, Robert to the right of Mike behind the Pred, Roger sitting on the log, John Rupley in back to the right of the sign, Gyro to the far right and me kneeing front right. Ginger had to leave before we got around to taking this, but I did get a couple of shots of her as well.

Ginger too.

I gotta be frank about this, we were all floored when Ginger showed up on Saturday. No one was even remotely expecting her to show up. I guess Gypo and her have had some correspondence, but even he couldn't believe it. She's really something and we all got along real well with her. Here she is cutting.

Predator

If you've never seen the Predator in action, then you'll be just as blown away by it as I was the first time, but don't blink because you'll miss the action. How about 1 second through a 30" log? This is Robert and his new northern partner, Dennis.

John Rupley, too

Of course John Rupley just had to give it a try as well. Check out the body English that Robert's laying into it. Here are two 200 and plenty pound guys and they can't even begin to slow the thing down.

Gypo the dancer

I think John wanted to impress Ginger with his Michael Flatley imitation by taking "River Dance" literally. Here's Gyro doin' the two step.

Robert and my wife

Robert got a little too freespirited with my wife after a couple of dozen beverages before noon on Saturday.

Ken, Jane wanted me to tell ya that the 088 woods saw that you did up for John works just great.

Great Pics

Thanks for the great pictures Doug. Sure wish I coulda been there, looks like a good time was being had by all. Hope the "Revival" was a huge success for Dennis and the rest of you guys who were able to help out. Ginger huh? Hmmm.....

So if John is the Chainsaw Champion, which somehow doesn`t surprise me, how did the rest of the Arboristsite gang fare? Russ

This is Charlene- Jons better half (1/4 ?). He would be horrified if he knew I was posting this but I had to let the "Revivalists" know, he hasn't stopped talking about Clearwater since he got home. He keeps talking about how GREAT the guys were and how EVERYONE made you feel so welcome! He most definately had the time of his life! "We" are already planning for next year.(maybe he'll be dried out by then)
And Doug- Thanks so much for the pics they're great !!!!! -C :blob2:

Thanks for the great pics guys!
Looks like everyone had a good time
Sorry I missed it, oh well, there is always next year

Retired Saws

Here are a couple of K.D. saws that Dennis tried to uh..........................................................Retire after thier last wins.
Dennis said to just leave them on the roof and that he would tune-em up a bit more than just turning 20,000+ in the cut. Just the same, Gypo said he needed them for his next race at the City Hall Saloon over at Rotax's.

After Gypo's win, the Rupleys decide that the saw could probably make 25,000 RPM with the right tweaks and proceed to make the mods so Ken will be happy the next time Gypo "fires" up the saw. Says Rupedoggy of the work they did, "The next time this saw ends up in a competition with us, it'll really have explosive power!"

Dennis's strategy

With the Rupleys and Gypo scooping up all of the coveted Clearwater Revival Singing Bass trophies, he finally blows off all competitive class saws by borrowing back the 3 cubic inch Greffardized 346 he sold to Rotax Robert and obliterating the field.

Little leroy Lambert and rotax robert

Hello doug,
man, that 084 looks good. gypo said the winning cut was 2.58 seconds. pretty fast. those are some really good pictures but i'll have to keep my eyes on those roopley boys. It looks like john and robert did some serious celebrating and are feeling no pain. after reviewing all these photo's i'll definately be there next year.

doug's 3120 husky

Here's a photo of Doug Babcock with his 3120 just after he got off the jet at clearwater from a corporate meeting in germany. Made it in time for the last race

Hi Doug, John here, was that last picture before Robert got his ticket or was it before Mike and John fed us all those beverages?

Ken,
If you're going to be there next year, then we've got some work to do. Rupe said he'd give me a good price on one of those 3120's he picked up, then I'd save the shipping hassles to you because he'd bring it to you personally. I want this one to be full race: head, carb, belly bar, chain, the works. I'll start practicing with my piped woods saw and your chain ASAP to get ready. We'll talk.

John,
The time scale of last weekend completely escapes me for some reason, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say that that picture was taken at the Wells Gray Bar and Grill, right before Robert spent the $345 Canadian.
