Well my crummy took a pretty rough beating this morning. Some last tried to pass me at an intersection while I was making a left hand turn .......and WHACK. Totalled. So now its wait for the insurance company. Yay

Yeah Im fine. At 6'4'' and 290lbs I can take some abuse lol. My poor truck on the other hand not so good . I think in the dazed state I was in I might have uttered a few colorful words of the explicit nature to the.....er ah lovely lady driving the car that hit me. She of course took full advantage of the laws of NYS and opted for the OH MY NECK hurts clause...

The Missus is a deere 440 A skidder the book says she weighs 12000. I've used the truck to haul short logs to the mill from time to time and It did ok (7-8000lbs ) but the tranny has had issues since the day I got it. with a little luck I'll have a granny low 5spd by the end of the summer to swap into, out of an f450 diesel, with a bad engine. By rights it should pull it by then, maybe not everyday but a few trips a year would be good enough. Besides I can't stand driving an automatic...

I'd try out this trailer brake controller too, haven't read anything but good things about it on the truck forums. --> MaxBrake™ - Hydraulic over Electric Variable Brake Controller)

This what happens when I get tired. Last Saturday I was digging out a stump with an old JD 710 backhoe. I have a ton of hours on this machine and know it pretty well. At least I have never tipped it over. Around 7pm I noticed a slight tear on the edge of the bucket but I figured I could dig with the other edge. Not to be. The entire edge folded over faster than I could react. I didn't change buckets till the next morning and broke this piece off try to fish the another bucket out of the weeds. Now it has a 30" or so bucket on it. Bigger than what I want but I'll make do.

I don't see anything wrong:biggrin: That coupler thingy is a cheap napa part (I once drove 10 miles without one...) bumpers and fenders are over rated anyway.

It might have something to do with the front clip being shifted over an inch or two but something just doesnt look right lol. My passenger door doesnt open right either. Yes northman fenders are over rated lol.

Well to my complete suprise... the insurance company did not total my truck. They book valued its old ugly self at $10,500 and only $3800 damage. So I opted to do the work myself. they cut me the check and said have a nice day.

This is like the candy store. I get a check to fix my truck, and bought a fender and the rest I had from a parts truck already. Soooo might as well fix it up for another 100,000 miles lol. Many new parts to come I will take pictures lol
