I have a newer 362 and 462. I use them to clear hiking trails, so it would be unusual and really heavy for me to carry a backup saw.

I’m going to put together a spares kit to carry with me. What are the common parts that are easily replaced in the field with only a T27, scrench, and multi-tool?

So far:
Starter cord and handle
Clutch springs
Sprocket
Spark plug (maybe, not sure how likely one is to fail vs wear out)

plugs are rated for 200 hours, if you cut 5 days a week for 6 hours they should be replaced every 8 weeks, fuel filter at the same time. anything beyond what you listed might be too much for the field. I would carry a extra couple bolts/screws/bar nuts incase you loose one. I always need a wedge or two, extra chain, file, boys axe, combi can, ass less chaps, extra bar nuts. If a saw fails its time to leave if your unable to access a second power head.I have seen more power tools destroyed trying to make them function for the rest of the day instead of just putting it down.

There have been a few threads on this. Some of it is based on experience and what you feel comfortable doing. Some parts may fit either saw, and you will already have 2 saws.

Things I like to have:
Bar nuts (if not captive)
Spark plugs (fail or foul)
Fuel filter
‘E’-clips (they fly!)
Rim sprocket
Sprocket bearing
2 spare chains per saw
Chain catcher.

I have had chain tensioners fail on me infrequently, and fuel caps, etc. Lose those white, plastic chain guides periodically. Newer air filter seem to last longer. And a spare bar or bar tip is nice to have, but not to carry. Some stuff you can leave in your vehicle as a larger kit along with additional tools, supplies, etc.

Let’s not forget…Skrench! Last fall I was out in the middle of a beetlekill patch and the chain threw.

Had all the items that were mentioned above with the exception of the Skrench.

Ooops….

Lucky I brought extra chainsaws though 😜
