It was a run “what you brung” kind of morning, but an unusual opportunity for me to use a chainsaw for my day job. This hideous mess of a service has been lurking in the “I don’t want to do it” and “they (the owners) don’t want to pay for it” back corner of my customer to do list for a number of years now and we were both mutually letting it ride… well it has started to fail underground. I had to cut this tree which had grown up through the mess of cords and cables connected to what began life as 2 double wide mobile homes from the 60’s. I have cut some nerve wracking trees before, but this is probably the most. A smaller saw would have been nice, but I nipped one branch at a time and took it out in little pieces. I wasn’t particularly concerned for my safety so much as I was concerned about turning this from a this spring project to a this afternoon project.
