splitting 064 case..

hey all.. i have been trying to get a customers 064 case split for days now.. i have never had a case this stuck! whats the usual solution to such an issue? (besides getting real pissed and smashing it to bits) all bolts are out, can get a slight gap to show in the mating surfaces.. heat gun not even helping on this one..

im starting to think this 064 just wants to give me a stress caused stroke!
crank bearings are shot and need replacement.. bearings,seals and gaskets allready ordered and shipped.. so im stuck with it.

i finally managed to get it apart. it wanted a bit more heat than i was applying earlier. thing was one stubborn bugger.

I know they are expensive, but I bought the Stihl AS and ZS tools. I normally only use the AS tool though. The AS tool attaches to the bar studs. With these tearing down a crankcase is real quick.

how much did those tools cost you? might have to price that in the morning while im making my calls to distributors.

I think they were about 200 - 225 a piece. May be more now. Spendy but you can split a case in about 5 minutes, and not worry about breaking something as easily.
