I've never mowed sooner than mid June and even then was just around the house were its warmer. Still another 2.5 months.
If I waited 2.5 months, I'd be in a jungle. Wild flowers bloomed a month ago. We've had a lot of 80° plus days here with 60° nights. And lots of rain.

And lots of big twisters in Louisiana according to the national news. I guess you folks are used to that. I guess it keeps people on the east and west coast from moving in.

We get a few. Hard to find a place without some problem. Born and raised in Nebraska, I have seem my share of both twisters and blizzards.

Wet winter, wet spring. Wind blowing all the time. Summer will be hot and humid without so much as a breeze. Welcome to Indiana.

We used to actually get snow. And you could get out and do something. Now if you want to work in the woods, you're out of commission for 6-8 months unless you live in the hills.

Spring is here and my one must project is done...got on the roof and cleaned the chimney. I think I am done with burning wood for this season. With lows in the upper 30's to low 40's and highs in the 60's. it doesn't make sense to try to continue to burn wood. Now I have to get busy to replace what I burned this past winter.:chainsaw::chop:

Weathers been up & down here. Couple of weeks ago I drove the JD over to a gully to drag up a maple log I had cut down. Ground was frozen on the trip there, muddy on the way back. HDAPs are still full of mud. Worked outside today with no jacket cleaning up windstorm debris, and they are calling for snow on Friday. Spring must be coming soon, the blue herons made their return.
