Last "get it on the ground" job we did the digger showed up right after we topped the ones that wouldn't fit in the lot. He hopped in his machine and tracked through 2 ft of snow and pushed or pulled all every tree as we cut ( pretty small machine). Probably saved us four hours, climbing/setting ropes ect, plus there was two feet of snow. We left and it was an absolute mess, but he helped us make it! He wanted them cut in 25' sections, we cut what we could get to, but he said he was gonna bring a saw to cut what we missed. We work with these guys a lot, so a good working relationship. Don't know anything about the moneys on this job, my boss just told me to get em on the ground, probably bid hourly so the contractor figured the more he helped, cheaper it was gonna be

But, we limbed en on the way up, just how we do it?

Sure, in most cases you limb it up although I have done quite a few conifers where it was easier for everybody if I just went up there somewhere in the middle and sent it out so saying what is standard is, well, its ignorant... kinda like Groundguy's bawss.

I vote it would be in the bid. Option 1: "I will make a mess and leave. Cheapest for you". Option 2: "I will make a semi neat mess, then leave. A little more money". If it's T and M im sure customer is looking for the better price so the faster you can get out the better. I doubt it looks bad on you for doing what you and the client agreed on. Set your own standard
