My saws spark like hell, but its the imbedded dust in the tree bark that acts as a chain dulling abrasive compound. This must be a by product of living in the "arid wasteland of the southwest". My solution to sparks.....Make the wife follow me with a fire extingusher!!! HAHA!-Matt
