As long as I had it out for the pics might as well put the MS180 to work.
With last springs mix, probably Stihl, it started right up but was not happy. Dumped that out put in fresh non-e and Red Armor and it's running great. 20240530_095326.jpg

Hi,

I'm a new member and here's my first post:

I've recently acquired my father's old ms170 chainsaw in good condition, however there's an issue with the choke lever and the contact spring behind it. The spring isn't putting any pressure on the lever mechanism.

Can anyone provide a picture or any information about the various choke settings? Particularly what the choke should look like in the hot start position with the air box off? - should this be 90% closed? Or 50% assuming cold start choke is 99% closed.

I really hope this makes sense. Between the off position and the and cold start position there's no tension on the lever to depict where it should rest for run position and hot start position.

Any help or advise would be amazing.

Thanks
